Azra held onto Kasia as she hugged him. He savored the moment but more than anything he wanted her to smile again and to show her more of his world. So he decided he needed to go gather more fruit for her as soon as possible. Once she let go he very quickly left in search of more sweet fruit without a word.
Kasia sat there stunned. Did she just get abandoned? But he had just comforted her just a while ago... Why did he run off so fast like that?? She looked a little sadly at the fallen sweet fruit that landed in the dirt underneath the tree. It was a shame.
The sun has long since been high in the sky as kasia swung her legs back and forth while she sat on the branch waiting but Azra never came back. Kasia went back to the city to talk to Briar about what had just happened, she wanted to tell her everything about how Azra just ran off. All about this 'sweet frut' but amidst her inner ramblings she stops midway back because Haran was blocking her path.
"Why are you staying with Briar?"
There was some contempt in his facial expressions and in his voice. He was upset?
What is with these men today. Why is he glaring so much? She took a calming breath and looked at him in the eyes for a moment before responding. Trying to gain an understanding of why he was so upset all of the sudden.
"She's my sister. Why wouldn't I be with her?"
Haran scoffed.
" If she was your 'sister' I would have heard about you before. And you wouldn't have left a random male to become her mate. You don't deserve to be around her, I heard that you're the only reason that she even came back here. ".
The anger built that much more in his voice.
"You are the reason she got injured so much. I don't approve of you being near her so just make it easier on everyone and leave. I'll protect her from now on."
Kasia was about to respond when Briar rushed out from behind him and slapped his face. He was so stunned he couldn't move, why was she here? Just staring at her like he'd been wronged.
"How DARE you talk to my SISTER like that??? She saved my life multiple times!! What about you? What did YOU do?
You watched that male hurt me. You led me to him knowing I didn't know the city leader had changed. You.... "
Briar's hand hovered over where his mate mark was before flinching at what was inevitably a memory of Mal. She dropped her hand to her side with tears falling from her eyes.
"Go away. I don't want to see you right now."
She grabbed Kasia's hand and the two went back to the healing house where she proceeded to burst into tears.
Haran heard her cries and felt like his heart was being torn into two and heavily regretted his actions. Females pretend to be close with one another but never truly care about the other females. They only care about themselves. He just wanted to protect her from this unknown female..
Kasia saw Haran's look of disbelief and total shock at Briars words. They made eye contact for but a moment before he transformed into his beast form and ran away as fast as his legs could carry him.
*Sigh* what is going on today? Kasia was at a loss, she learned some strange things about this world and opened up to Azra about herself. He ran off the moment after she hugged him and he never did look back.
Haran apparently hates her and now Briar is a sobbing mess.
"Oh well, let's give you some privacy. Sis... now nobody but us can enter here so cry as much as you want to."
Not even a moment later briar was screaming at the top of her lungs. "I didn't WANT him as a mate. I didn't WANT to be beaten by a male. Mal would never let that happen!! I... I... I want my Mal back! My Mal...."
With heavy breaths she calms down and just like before, Briar felt trembling hands rubbing her back in a comforting manner in an attempt to calm her down.
"I don't blame you sister. I'm thankful to you for everything you've done for me already. I just, I didn't hate finding out I had a new mate, I had promised Mal he would be my only mate. So I ... But I... now.. I don't know anymore.
Don't feel bad, I'll try be okay."

Azra was picking sweet fruit amongst so many others he managed to find ,when his heart shattered. His mate mark .. he couldn't feel Kasia through it anymore. That could only mean... She's.. no!
He dropped all the fruit and ran toward the tree he left her in. What if she fell and she's hurt and too weak to move? What if .. what if .. no running was too slow.
His whole body glowed a bright red as he transformed into a huge dragon and flew back to the beast city entrance. Leaving no time to enjoy his first flight in so many years.
All he could feel right now was bottomless fear for he may have just lost his mate he waited his whole life to meet. The one he gave a sacred vow to protect...

Haran was running wildly, anywhere was fine. How could he cause her to cry when he swore to protect her no matter what? He had longed to become her mate, even the person he looked up to the most gave him the chance to become her mate.
He knew Azra's cave HAD to have something special in it when he refused to leave the city no matter what. And yesterday he found out what.
All he wanted to do was protect his love from all the evil females. He knew very well just how cruel they were. But she truly liked that female for some reason.
That female ... He began thinking so many things he would come to regret later. But in the middle of it all, he noticed his mate mark wasn't feeling like it was before he left ..
Did she remove it afterall? He would be a fool if he hadn't noticed her thinking about it, he deserved it.. what was he doing? Thinking such cruel things about someone she truly cared about?
He couldn't let things end like this.. Maybe she hadn't completely removed it, maybe he could talk her out of it.
He began sprinting faster than he had ever moved in his life, fearing he would not only lose the female he loves, but begin his decent into madness. He would rather die than harm her within his madness.

Azra landed and transformed into his beastman form underneath the tree he had been sitting in with his mate just a little while ago. Just then was when a wolf ran into him full speed knocking them both to the ground and left the wolf tumbling over a few times.
It only took one look at one anothers attitude and facial expressions to understand that they had the same problem, and the severity of the situation.
Haran was momentarily stunned seeing such a large stone here that had never been here before and it was covered in Azra's scent. He couldn't believe he tripped on such a thing.
But in an instant he changed his focus to Briar, the fact that Azra was looking so upset must mean something happened to the both of them. Haran changed to his beastman form and said..
"He couldn't have..."
Azra looked at Haran "Who couldn't have?" Haran flinched looking at his scowl before gathering his courage thinking about his mate.
"Grey. He said he'd get rid of them if they didn't find mates... I didn't think he'd do it anyway. I..."
