"Aure!! you can heal their beasts!! You won't starve!!" Kasia said in a pleased tone. Aure just glowed a soft yellow at her words as she kept chattering away to herself.
It has been over a month since Kasia has arrived in this strange world. She is constantly amazed by the trees and plants every time she sees them. It was such a beautiful and interesting world.
' How precious would this place be back home?' she wondered. Kasia's mother would have fallen in love with this place. She decided to love it enough for her mother too.
Her mother's power was to create the images of flowers, but the image would disappear after a few moments. It worked best for weddings or events so she was definitely well-liked within the community for her power.
But most of them had never seen actual flowers. Just whatever her mother made.
It was only the severely rich that could own actual flowers and keep them alive within the world that she came from. It was very barren and hard to grow anything.
The more she moved around the area the more comfortable she got in the trees, she could easily outmaneuver most beasts now. She never would have even dreamed of being able to see such wonders. She loved climbing these trees that extended so high into the skies. It felt like one could see forever in the distance. Kasia saw many beasts in every direction but no signs of anyone like herself.
The tiny beasts that grew used to her presence sat next to and flew all around her while Kasia was sitting in the tree tops watching the strange beasts fly in the distance. They didn't look anything like the monsters from her world that would cause so much destruction and chaos for her family. This became a daily routine to watch the beasts of old to try to understand them better.
A loud scream echoed around her, It seemed to come from further in the trees. It wasn't a beast .. but a person, a Live person!!!! She quickly came down from the branch she sat on and tried to find the source of the voice.
Kasia quickly ran through the treeline until she saw a girl running from a beast of old, it seemed extremely angry today. She called out to the girl in a loud voice,
"Run over here !!! It's safe this way!!" The girl's frantic eyes scanned around until she found the source of the yelling and ran straight to it. Any hope was better than the fate awaiting her if this beast caught her. Tears stained her face as she barreled into Kasia's arms and they both fell over into the healing house doorway.
To the girls horror there was nothing to stop this beast from killing them both, There was no way they could survive. She flinched and hugged Kasia awaiting what was inevitably their last moments.
But nothing happened? She felt a warm hand patting her hair back into place and a hand rubbing her back.
That was when she realized it wasn't chasing her anymore... she was alive. She bawled in this strange females arms for a long while yet.
As she calmed herself down and finally took a deep breath a kind voice sounded from within her arms.
"Hi there! Are you feeling better? My name is Kasia, how about you?" Kasia was just happy to have found another person, she was finally not alone. This girl seemed thin and was wearing strange fuzzy clothes that showed her stomach. Her hair was like rays of moonlight, a beautiful silver that she couldn't help smoothing out all of the wild hairs for the girl.
This beautiful female had purple hair that she had never seen another female have. She had never seen such a color even on males. This female has blue eyes much like her own and was staring at her while smiling. "M..My name is Briar"
After a moment of disbelief from them both for different reasons " What Tribe are you from that your hair is so pretty? And why did that Feral beast leave us alone?"
Both of their minds were full of questions "Tribe.. is that like family? Or where I'm from?" Briar nodded
"I'm from a Tribe very far away from here, I was chosen to go out on my own and find my own way. It's been about a month now. What is a Feral Beast?"
Kasia's eyes seemed to sparkle full of enthusiasm, she could hardly contain her joy waiting for the long awaited answers about this place.
Briar was shocked, a female was sent off to survive alone? What a cruel Tribe she must have come from...
She has really survived for such a long time alone? She is such an amazing female.
Then it hit her, Briar felt stumped. This female didn't know what ferals were? Just what was her Tribe like?
Briar hesitated for a moment before answering what ferrals were. "Feral beasts are solitary males that tend to be more aggressive toward females and have to force a mate bond with the female in order to gain a mate. An abandoned beast is a beastman who is abandoned by his mate and hates females. Because of how badly their souls are damaged their minds only hold hatred when the mate mark disappears. Their Mate keeps all their good intentions for the rest of her life, and the abandoned beast keeps all the pain for the rest of his life ."
Kasia was understandably confused, "What is a beastman? " Briar pointed at herself then Kasia
"We are beastmen as well? Only the males can turn into their beast forms though." Briar just tilted her head in a questioning manner while staring at this strange female.
Kasia was horrified. The creatures that were trying to harm her were people?! They can turn into the beats of old??? Were all the tiny beasts people too???
This world is even more strange than she had thought. Her hectic thoughts came to a halt when she saw Briars injuries. She decided to calm her mind and first lead Briar to Aure.
"This is Aure. Aure will help heal your wounds. " Briar was reluctant but decided to Listen to her savior. "...Is this .... alive?" Her voice was shaking. She could sense it wasn't any normal body of water.
"Yea, but it won't hurt you. It lives off of the tainted blood or whatever blood that is already outside of your body. It won't harm you unless you threaten it. Aure learned long ago if it heals wounds rather than eating whatever touches it , that people will return to feed it again rather than gaining only the one meal."
Briar jumped in and submerged herself under the water. She felt all the pain fade away as she resurfaced. Even her skin looked smoother than she had ever seen it. The water glowed yellow as she stepped out. " It's happy you trusted me. See? are you still hurt anywhere else?" Briar shook her head no and looked at Kasia with admiration. She was so strong unlike her....she even had the strange powers to keep ferrals away.
A few hours went by and the two decided to stay in the house for today. They exchanged information about their respective homes and gathered a better understanding of each other.
Briar was concerned about food at first but Kasia handed her the little black orb, and called it food.
It didn't have any taste but she felt full soon afterwards.
It only took one orb to feel full for an entire day and night. It was amazing how something so small could keep them fed for so long. Although amazing it seemed to lack... something. Its existence was good only for staying alive and nothing more.
Kasia tried to convince Briar to keep exploring with her but she was too frightened to leave this place so she had to leave that topic alone, at least for tonight.
They stayed up well Into the night chatting away about anything and everything they could think of.
A couple of days passed and it didn't take long for Briar to get tired of not eating food like she normally did. Although it's less convenient her belly felt oddly empty, even when she felt full. She loved the taste of the fruits and meat her mate used to gather and prepare for her. Tears threatened to fall from her eyes once again. Her mate... She ate the orb and looked to the sky in an attempt to stop her tears from falling.
