The sound down the hallway was loud. Because by how long we've been walking nothing seems to have fallen.
" I don't think we'll find whatever we're looking for at this rate." Madi sighs and stops. I nod and stop too and pull out the camera.
" We have closed the search." I articulate. She nods.
" Well, why don't we start an investigation?" Madi proposes. I nod and start walking, to look for a good room.
" What about... 333?" I raise my eyebrow why'll saying that and give my own smirk. Madi laughs and jokingly bows.
" Lead the way my Queen." She jokes. I giggle and before I go in to the room I see Madi smile a bit. Weird.
" So, I have the EMF reader which detects electrical or radio waves in the air, I have the REM pod which activates by close approximated touch or the vicinity the entity is." I explain the two devices. I wave my hand over the REM pod to show proof and it beeps constantly before I take my hand away.
"Now, this wouldn't be a proper séance without candles, now would it?" Madi proclaims while taking four candles and a lighter out.
" Did you bring the Oujia Board?" I query.
" I present to you the Oujia Board." Madi says in a "formal" voice. I laugh at her attempt.
" Light the candles, the séance has begun." I declare. Madi lights all four candles while I set up the board/area. I place the planchette in the middle and wait for Madi.
" Okay, we're all set up!" Madison announces. I nod my head and we plant our fingers on the planchette.
" Is something here?" I announce and flinch at my voice which echoes in this sterile room. The planchette immediately moves to "YES".
" Oookay. Are you evil?" Madi quickly asks. It moves to "NO".
"Were you wrongly imprisoned in this place?" I interrogate, nicely.
" YES, YOU MUST LEAVE" The spirit, entity warns.
" Why?" Madi asks curiously.
" BAD PLACE FOR GOOD PEOPLE"
" Oh~ this is one of the good spirits." Madi proclaims approvingly.
" I LIKE KYNLEE" It spells.
" Oh! You do? Why?" I squeak.
" GOOD SOUL, JUST LIKE MADISON." Madi's jaw drops.
" What's your name?" I gently press.
"MARIA BANKS"
" That's a pretty name!" I compliment.
" MUST GET OUT! CAN'T PROTECT." The planchette starts moving sloppily.
" KYNLEE, PROTECT YOURSELF, I WILL TRY." It spells before moving to goodbye.
" Okay, okay! Nope! Séance is at it's end. We should go." I shakily pull my fingers off the planchette as fast as I can, Madison in close pursuit quickly after. We start packing quickly, I feel a cold draft puncture me and it makes me stumble before a warmer presence enters me. I feel like the warmer presence is Maria but my only focus now is to get the fuck out.
" Thanks for watching guys, sorry it was cut short." I apologize running and panting. Madison's ahead of me and is waiting for me. Out of fucking nowhere, a plank of wood falls in front of me and I have to flail my arms to get back up into a mobile stance.
" Woah~!" Is all I manage as we get into the safety of the rental car I bought before the investigation.
" Okay guys, this place is obviously haunted." I emphasize the "obviously". Madison nods vigorously and starts the car.
" I guess I should explain the history of the place, only because I wasn't able to before." I pause for dramatic effect. " The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum was constructed from 1858 to 1881." I pause again.
" Soon, it became to overpopulated with the new rush of patients that enumerated the number to 2,400. Then in 1994 it was forcibly closed due to their " Healing" methods. PS they were gut-wrenching, horrible methods." I elucidate.
" Seriously? People are that sick?" Madi emphasizes 'that'. I nod slowly. " Were there kids too?" I can hear the dread in her voice as she asked the question.
" Yes, and they were treated like the adults." My voice broke while saying that sentence.
" Bro, that's sick." Madi replied, disgust evident in her tone. I turn on the car and sped off, more than excited to be away from that hellhole.
" Thank you guys for watching, as you know, our videos are uncut and are significantly longer. I'm sorry we cut it short! Also go get the merch!" I say my outro and cut the feed.
< At the hotel>
" Were going, I don't want to stay here any longer." I announce as soon as we rush into our hotel room.
" Agreed." Madison says. I rush to my suitcase and start packing my lotion, mascara, deodorant, lip gloss, eyeliner, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Madison does the same.
" Book two flights back to Texas now." I demand. Madison and I rush out the door and she opens her phone while we run.
" Two flights to Texas confirmed, economy was the only ones open." Madison confirms.
" Great, I don't care about the seats, if were in economy then were in economy, I want to be out of here." I somewhat reassure Madison. She nods and I take off to the airport.
" I'll make sure someone takes the rental car." I say as we go into the airport. Madi nods and we go through security. I let out a breath of relief.
" GATE B TO TEXAS BOARDING NOW!" The intercom shouts. We all get in line for economy and I watch as first class goes first, I'll admit I was a little jealous because I just wanted to be out of here. Eventually economy boarded and since we were first in line we were on the plane first and found our seats, C7 and C8.
" I get C7!" I exclaim. Madison nods and puts our suitcases up in the compartment. She sits down and instantly falls asleep on my shoulder again. I roll my eyes and lift the armrest again. Exhaustion ends up defeating me and I drift off to sleep. I wake up when I feel the plane land and I turn my head a small bit and see Madi still asleep.
" Madi." I whisper. She groans. " We're here." Her eyes flutter open and she yawns.
" Finally." She says groggily. I let out a light laugh and help her get unbuckled. She swats my hand away when I try to help her stand up and not stumble.
" I can walk." She mumbles exhausted. Jet lag obviously evident in her tone and actions. I end up getting out of the row first and I grab our suitcases and our equipment bag. It took us about thirty minutes before everyone was out of the plane. We leave the airport after stupid security and look for my truck.
" There!" Madison calls, pointing her finger at my black Tacoma. I smile, happy to see my baby.
" There she is." I nod. We walk up to my truck and put our stuff securely in my empty toolbox.
" Girl, you gotta fill this sometime! You have all the tools, you just need to put them in here." Madi reminds me all the time about my toolbox I just am either to lazy to do so or I forget.
" Yeah, yeah." I wave her off, lazily. "Let's go home, I miss my bed." I go around the hood to my drivers side and hop in, I press the start/stop button and smile as I hear her engine roar to life.
" Time to go!" Madi announces happily.
" What time is it?" I ask her, pulling out of the parking garage.
" 6:53am." Madison tells me looking at her watch.
" I need a coffee." I sigh. Madison nods in agreement.
" Scooters?" I suggest. Madison nods vigorously.
" We're Scooter girls all the way! Starbucks is for popular girls." Madison reminds me and laughs. I smile.
" Remember our quiet ass selves?" Madison remembers.
" Oh yeah, and the Patterson twins?" I add, snickering. The Patterson twins were our bullies in middle school all the way through high school.
" I wonder what they'd think of us now." Madison snickers.
" I guess we'll find out, wee have an interview with their mom, remember?" I tell Madi.
" Oh yeah! She was a nice lady, though her daughters were spoiled brats." Madi comments.
< At Home>
I step in our house and smile as Hades our German shepherd barrels towards me and starts licking my hand.
" Well, hello to you to!" I say in a baby face and crouch down so I could pet him. Nora, our Maine coon waltzes into the entrance and happily rubs against my legs. Madison walks through the door a ew minutes later and is met with the same greeting.
" Hi Hades! Nora! Your so fluffy!" Madison exclaims as she also crouches down to give our animals some attention.
" I'm happy to be home."
