In a red burning night, two young boys were running, through a deep forest. The elder one was carrying the younger one. He was holding him tightly near his chest. It seemed they were being chased by something.
"Huff! Huff! I am almost out of breath.."
"Will it chase us this far, brother?"
"Huff, I don't know...I can't sense it anymore...huff...I am out of energy too."
"You should put me down, I can run by myself now."
"Hokay(okay)...Huff...take out the water bottle...Huff...I am thirsty..."
He put down the younger kid on the wild grasses and the backpack beside him. The younger one then took out the water bottle. Both of them drank a lot of the water from the bottle. After calming down, the elder brother started talking-
"Let's try to climb the tallest tree here, and try to see that side."
The younger one nodded confidently. They loitered around for sometime and found two nearby trees tall enough.
"Let's climb them. You take that one, and I take this."
"Hmm", he nodded.
They almost bathed in saltwater. Some parts of their shirts are torned apart from the continuous collisions with the twigs.
But somehow they climbed through the trees. After few minutes of rough and tough efforts, they reached the top and gazed at the southern parts of the sky.
The amber coloured sky. Who will believe that it was almost midnight. But the sky was burning because of the spreading fire. The smoky scent of the burning woods already spread thoughout the forest. Not a single ferocious beast could be seen because of that.
"They are all must be dead by now, right?", the younger one asked the older brother. He asked while gazing at the burning sight.
"Galliyan, let's climb down.", he couldn't say anything other than that.
These youths were sent away by the village head to save them from this disaster. It could be interpreted that, almost none were alive by then, except these two.
They started to walk deeper into the forest. This side didn't have many big trees. The more deeper they goes, the number of trees decreases. After few minutes, they found a canyon. And in the middle of the canyon, there was a ruin. A ruin, made of stones. It does look like a short of ran down temple.
"Brother Finn, is it okay to head in there? This part of the forest is forbidden, you know?"
"Do we even have a choice? We don't know if there are more of those parasytic monsters chasing us. And I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about this."
"O-okay then, let's head in."
The area was too dark. They can't even see anything. But the elder one, Finn, after awakening his bloodline, his five senses have been hightened.
"I sensed no monsters here, follow me."
Galliyan grabbed the corner of his shirt tightly and followed him like a tail.
"What is that? I have a familier feeling. Wait right here."
He went near the stone slab, which was on a higher level than the floor. There was a rectangular shape curved on it.
"I was right! It is a stone alter."
"Stone alter? What is that?"
"You might not know, but you remember right, how I came out from the tomb like ruin at the village outskirts? There was a stone alter like this inside the ruin."
"Oh, I don't know what that supposed to mean..."
"That time I met my ancestor's remaining thoughts, maybe someone like him will appear again."
"Ok..."
"Appear!"
A white glowing book appeared out of thin air. He put the pook on the rentangular sheped marked area. And suddenly light came out from the floor.
"Wha-what the hell is happening? Why is light coming out of the floor."
"I-I don't know either."
The blinding light started to overwhelm their presence. It looked like, they were being swallowed by the light.
"Oaaah--"
"Bro...the..aaar"
And they vanished from the sight. In the blink of sn eye, there is no light anymore. They were disappeared into the thin air after being engulfed by the blinding light.
"Aaaah---ouch!"
"Aaaah, what happened?"
They fall on the stone floor out of balance.
"I don't know, hey, look around."
"Huh! Where are we?"
"I don't know..."
"I don't remember of raining though...when the rain started?"
"????"
Both of them got shocked. Just a few breaths ago they were being chased by the monsters. There were burning smell everywhere. But not anymore, but instead, it's raining.
"Look, this is not the ruin, although, there is a stone alter too, but it's not the ruin, we went into"
"Let's survey a bit."
There were no trees nearby. Clearly it's not a forest area. But there are traces of urban civilization. There was a broken down two floored building. They took sheltered there.
"We got teleported?"
"Isn't that just fantasy?"
"So, how would you explain this?"
"Let's relax for a bit, I don't fee any denger here."
"Yeah", Finn nodded.
After two hours of rest and conversations, they came to a settlement.
"Let's went out...I don't feel any malice nearby. And I can't use my senses anymore. I am too hungry. Let's try to find some people. If we find them, let's bought some food."
"But how? Even if we find people, do you have anything to exchange food?"
Finn took out few golden chunks from his bagpack.
"Go-gold? You were this rich?"
"No-way, after, father and mother died, I sold out all of my belongings, even house, everything. I only left with this things...Father's archeology-bagpack, a small dagger for self defence...and other necessities."
"Sigh, right, we are both orphans now..."
"But we are a family now..."
"Who wants to be a family with you..."
"Huuuuh? Am I that un-attractive?"
"Brother Finn you are overestimating yourself...It's your honour to be in a same family with me..."
"Okay, my lord...Just shut up...and head out. If we don't find any food, we both will die today anyway."
They head out with all there belongings. Nothing was left behind. This place is full of uncertainities. They don't had any choice.
This is a tale of a boy who was only wanted to gather more knowledge and enjoy the world. But his tragic bloodline and the inheritance he got from his father changed his whole life. What will he choose in front of the crossroad? It's uncertain, and that's why it is more amusing.
