"Hey new girl, what's your name?" One of the house maids asks Anna as she forgot to introduce her to others. She is rather annoyed by the appearance of Anna.
"Ummm, I am Anna. You must be layla, mister Edward told me about you." Anna gently replies her back. The maid looks at her with an unimpressed stare and a blank expression on her face. She walks away from her without saying anything else. Anna can't tell if that's the polite way of treating another person or not, but it doesn't really matter. Layla tells the other male worker to show Anna around and teach her the house works. He did so with much enthusiasm. Anna was taken aback by how eager he seems to help her since Layla only gave him a dirty look earlier, but decides to just go along with her plan for now and make friends first.
"Hi, don't worry about her. She is always like that towards young and beautiful girls like you. Come, i will show you around." He takes Anna to the kitchen and starts telling her the things the three prince likes.
She tries to remember everything he says in order to avoid the situation like she often does when someone starts talking about food.
He then starts showing her the different rooms which have all sorts of equipment in them such as cleaning supplies, laundry and kitchen appliances. He also shows her where some servants have been working.
His voice has a soft tone, which Anna finds comforting in a weird way. He also gives off a friendly and warm vibe, which Anna appreciates greatly.
"Mister Edward introduced you to all of the princes, right?" He asks Anna.
"Well, i already met three of them. So mister edward thought i did not have to get introduced and he left in a hurry. Must have been something important or something. Yes I don't think i have to get introduced to prince William and Burton but I haven't talked with Prince Ford enough. I just had a weird encounter with him at the garden and didn't even know he was a prince at the time." Anna explains to him.
"Well, how about I introduce you to Prince Ford? He is currently at the palace, i think you should meet him as your only job here in the palace is to take care of the three prince. You shouldn't be nervous, Prince Ford is the nicest of the three. He is a very shy guy and doesn't bother anyone." He replies reassuringly to her. "You will do fine in his presence. Don't forget that i am here too in case you need any help."
"Thank you very much. For everything and anything I mean. Really, thank you."
The two heads into the second floor and towards the room where Prince Ford was staying. They knocks on the door quietly and wait patiently for it to open. It finally does and they are greeted by a prince who is dressed quite casually. He is wearing black trousers, a white button up shirt and a blue bow tie.
"What is it Edward junior? I was busy reading a book." Prince Ford asks Edward Junior and Anna. He looks bothered but he still tries to look normal.
"Edward junior?" Anna asks her co worker.
"Ah yes, Mister Edward is actually my father. Anyway, master Ford. This is Anna, I believe you have met her before. She will be your new butler, she will serve all three of you brothers. Please call her whenever you need and she will be there." Ed Junior introduces Anna to Prince Ford.
"Hello, I am Anna. It would be an honor to serve you master." Anna tells him nervously It feels strange being in a prince's bedroom. Her mind is telling her that this isn't real and that it is all just in her imagination. But she can't deny what she saw today. If the world wasn't out of control, she might even find herself liking this prince.
"Ah Ah, Okay Anna. I will call you whenever i want, eat this herb so that we can be connected through telepathy. It's a A grade magic item, we can be connected in a one miles radius. You may go now." Prince Ford brings out a eatable herb and told Anna to eat it. This type of magic items are used by rich and powerful people in the world. They use it to command and be connected with their soldiers and slaves. Only the magic user can talk and not the person who eat that item. Anna has never eaten such a item and becomes nervous but Ed junior tells her to calm down and not worry as the magic item will not be harming her. The herb tastes slightly bitter as she chews the herb but its taste changes quickly once she finishes eating. There is a slight tingling sensation in her mouth and then the feeling vanishes. She feels better immediately. She feels good after eating it. "So how does it feel like? I had one of them two years ago. My father eat one of the magic items given by the overlord himself. Have you taken those items from Prince William and Prince Henry too?" Ed junior asks her.
"No i did not, I should get them when they returns back to this palace." As they were talking, the woman from earlier finds them and starts scolding them for standing around.
They both walk away leaving Anna speechless. But Ed junior returns and laughs a little at her. "Don't worry Anna, it happens sometimes. Your first task is to prepare the food for dinner. Do you know how to cook?" He asks Anna.
"Yes i do. I have a cookbook. My parents taught me a lot of cooking." She tells him.
"Great, that's great. Well come with me to the kitchen. We are gonna start preparing your food. I bet you are hungry. We can start working after our belly are full." The two continue walking towards the kitchen. As they arrive there they see Layla, the house maid, already busy preparing the meal. "Layla, you should be careful, you will burn yourself, you are using your magic powers." Ed junior warns her as he walks towards the stove.
"Oh shush, I know I won't. Master Ford ordered me to cook something for him after such a long time. I am going to make the best dishes and finally get a promotion." Maid Layla tells Ed junior.
Anna has always been good at cooking, so she starts observing Layla and see what she was making. Anna finds many errors and tries helping Layla but she scolds her and tells her to not get involved. Anna sighs sadly, she knows Layla means well, but she doesn't want to cause any trouble between maid and Ed Junior. Anna decides to leave Layla alone.
"Come on Miss Layla, she was just trying to help." Ed Junior tells maid Layla.
"I do not need help from a newbie, I have been the head chief for the past ten years. Who does she think she is? Get out of my kitchen, do not come here until I am done cooking." She makes the two get out of the kitchen.
Anna and Ed go outside and Ed tries changing the subject by giving her a different task to do until Layla is done cooking.
"How about you go and bring some mangoes for the garden? There's a big mango tree, I think the prince would love some fresh fruits." Ed suggests.
"That's a great idea, I shall get going." Anna gets a basket from the kitchen area and goes to the garden to collect mangoes. The tree was big and Anna couldn't figure out how to climb it. Fortunately she found an old ladder that was hanging from one side of the tree and managed to climb up it to the branch above, which allows her to pick ripe mangoes for the prince to eat while she is watering the plants that are growing on the lower branches. Once Anna finishes, she carries the basket back to the kitchens and Ed instructs her to bring some more fruits inside as the garden is filled with them and they are getting ready for dinner.
Ed Junior watches her as she leaves.
She seems like a nice girl, he thought. Although she doesn't seem to be used to be here yet. He hopes that things will go well for her. Anna is already learning a lot of stuff from him.
After Anna finishes watering the garden and bringing some fruit inside, she and Ed ask Layla if she was done.
"Yes I am, everything is prepared. Hey Ed, come here and help me get these foods to Prince Ford's room." Layla and Ed Junior carry the food upstairs.
Meanwhile Anna starts looking around the kitchen and finds another worker who has been working with Layla. She introduces herself to him. Anna checks on all the available items and decides to cook something. She brings fresh beef meat and starts cooking it with her special technique.
As she was cooking, Layla and Ed gives the food to Prince Ford. It is a fish dish which looks really good. But Prince Ford does not show any kind of satisfaction. He is a vampire, so he has a strong sense of smell. He can tell if the food is good or not just by the smell.
"Please master, give it a try. We should not judge a food by its smell." Layla nervously tells Prince Ford. Ford stares at her with his red eyes, making her even more nervous.
He decides to give the food a try and takes a bite, only to spit it out.
"Not only is it fish, which I do not like that much. It's cooked horribly and it even feels raw." Prince Ford gives his honest opinion on the dish.
"But you brothers love this dish, that is why I prepared it especially for you. I tried my best to make it as good as possible."
"I am not like my brothers, I have different taste. Now get out of here with this food, never give me such a dish." Prince Ford is annoyed but still remains calm. Maid Layla gets so scared that she starts shaking, because if it was Prince William or Henry instead of Ford, she would have gotten severe punishment.
As Layla and Ed was walking out of the room, Prince Ford stops them.
"I smell something good, it is coming out of the kitchen. What is it? What is being cooked?" Prince Ford asks Layla. She didn't know.
Prince Ford liked the smell so much that he decided to walk out of the room and go to the kitchen area himself to find out what was being cooked.
He finds Anna, she is cooking a beef item which has attracted the Prince. It has been so many years since he has smelled something as good as it. The last time he smelled something this good was when his mother cooked.
His mother had a very good cooking ability and loved to cook. But she passed away a few years back.
The Prince looks at the beef dish and decides to take a look at Anna.
"I want you to bring that dish to my room when it is done, you are the one who should bring it and not anyone else."
Prince Ford leaves, ordering Anna to finish cooking the dish and bring it to him. Everyone in the kitchen was stunned. Layla felt embarrassed and didn't say anything, while Ed Junior cheered her. She finishes cooking the dish and brings it to the Prince. He smells it before taking a bite, causing his face to change expression. "This isn't bad." He compliments her.
"Thank you Master." She replies. He takes another bite and again his face turns into a serious expression. He continues to eat the beef and says, "It is not bad, but it needs improvement. Hey, how about you become a chief here in the palace instead of being an ordinary maid. I will promote you to the same status as Layla. You shall work side by side with her."
Anna jumps in excitement in her head, she got promoted after just two days.
