Alexa's POV
I angrily walked out of Macie's muttering curses at the manager as I had been fired from my 7th job, I have a very foul mouth and have a hard time controlling it, I just talk without thinking, not that I blame my self it's something I inherited from my late Hispanic mother, I smiled as I remembered her she was so beautiful I miss her so much . I wiped a stray tear as I took gentle steps , they found her body drained of blood, they investigated for weeks but didn't find anything,I had do things on my own ,it was hard at first ,it still is but I'm getting used to my life without her. I took a left turn and made my way down the narrow road, our cottage was at the outskirts of the town and mum loved it that way, she said she loved how quite it was out here and how she is surrounded by nature the same nature took her from me.
"La la la la "I sang as I cleaned the house, I haven't done much cleaning since I lost mum I always ended up crying , I was done with the living room so I decided to sort out mums cloth and shoes, maybe I could send them to a charity home or something, I stood at her door for three minutes took a deep breath and opened the door, it was dark inside,I walked to the curtains and opened it , I looked around the room and everything was in place just dusty, I walk to her closet as I took the clothes on the hanger and placed them on the bed,I continued for about 10minutes before I moved to the shoe boxes,I was about to place the last shoe box in a carton when I saw a brown wooden box, it looked old but had little designs drawn on it , symbols I guess. Immediately I touched the box I felt a shot of electricity go through me,"wow" I breathed out I have never felt anything like this, I touched the box again but nothing happened so I opened it. An old picture and a necklace, the pregnant lady in the picture was not mum but they looked so similar, the lady was taller and her hair was a lighter shade of brown exactly like mine , I looked at the man and his eyes , they were the same color with mine"could he be my dad?"i wondered out loud. I picked up the necklace and smiled, "maybe mum would want me to have this " I sais as I smiled and quickly clasped the necklace around my neck. I smiled again as I suddenly felt complete, I felt whole. Maybe this is a new beginning for me.
