Chapter 20 - E.V.A (Part 4)

That wad the last thing E.V.A expected the reptiloid to say.

„What do you mean 'Do you wish to speak with her'? My creator is dead."

The reptiloid named Syzoth only stared at her. No hint of hear was shown on his face.

He only repeated the question.

And now, E.V.A was the one who didn't know what to answer.

Was this lizardman proposing to bring her creator back from the dead? If so, could everything potentially return the way it was?

„I am ssssorry to disssapoint you, but I am neither a god nor am I a necromancer. I am only an alchemist. However, as a powerful alchemist I can perform a ritual what would allow the soul of a specific person to return back to this world from limbo. Only the soul, and only for a few minutes. Would that be enough?"

E.V.A nodded.

Did she feel something?

Some sort of happiness?

„But before we do that, I wish to ask you something."

E.V.A was slightly annoyed, but neither the less she gave Syzoth the sign to continue.

„Let's say, hypothetically, or theoretically, if you decided one day to serve somebody else, what would it take for you to chose another master. Or what would be the criteria?"

E.V.A at first was confused by the question. What did it have to do with him returning her master back from the brink of death for a few moments?

„Why are you asking that?"

„Jussssst curiousssss. It wouldn't hurt for me to know. Or you. Come on, jussst anssswer."

E.V.A for a few moments went through her memories and her programming.

What would be the criteria to have another master.

Her creator never gave her the possible choice of picking another master to serve, to prevent her possibly rebeling against her creator.

However, if her creator, was it possible?

„ … if she personally gave up control and handed full control to the new person of her choice then he or she would undoubtedly become my new master. After which it may be possible that my creator would no longer have any control over me, as she gave that control to the new person."

Syzoth didn't seem to show of any expression. But E.V.A failed to see that Syzoth's snake like eyes gave up the glance of something, greedy.

It was just for a split moment, but then everything returned to normal.

Syzoth then put his fingers towards his chin as if thinking of something.

„Are you done?", the mechanical girl asked, „Can you start that ritual? I wish to talk with my creator. Now."

E.V.A made sure to make her last sentence sound slightly threatening, but Syzoth didn't seemed to be bothered by it.

His pupils then stared at E.V.A, like a snake that found it's prey.

His strange mouth then formed a smile.

„Let'ssssss begin."

...

...

...

„Before we ssssstart the ritual, I at firssssst need a part of your creators body. It doesssssn't matter if it's a bone, a piece of hair, a drop of blood. Anything would sssssuffice."

E.V.A then looked at her creators frozen skull. It was the only organic material left from her creator. Was she ready to heat it enough for the ritual? Was it worth it? It could be possible that the skull wouldn't be able to retain it's form after the ritual. It could be destroyed in the process, and with it the last part of her creator would dissappear.

„Is there anything you ssssssaved from your creator? Anything?"

„Only the skull behind you."

Syzoth looked behind his back at the skull, and them stared back at the metal maid.

His intentions were clear. He was ready to unfreeze the skull and use it for his ritual.

But it seemed he wouldn't make a move until E.V.A herself allowed him.

And E.V.A allowed it.

She was about to do it herself, but Syzoth simply put his hand before her, telling her she had no need to do anything.

„I ssssshall do the ressssst. Don't worry."

He then turned back to the skull, and slightly touched the ice where the skull was.

Smirking, he picked out a bottle with some green liquid, a yellow flower and a small bowl.

He then picked out the leaves carefully out of the flower, let them fall into the bowl, and started massaging them, while mumbling some words to himself that E.V.A didn't understand. Syzoth used a language she never heard.

The language seemed otherworldly, unsetteling … alien.

Then, when the leaves looked like a different kind of liquid, he then let the liquid from the bowl flow into the bottle.

Then he started shaking the bottle, while holding both of his hands at the different points of the bottle.

„marmaraa, Sssssharmanarar, venooomous, Aaaalllexxxxxaaandddrraaaaa mmmmarvaaaa lluuuummmurrra…"

He then stopped. And he then slowly pureed the liquid over the ice.

It melted, leaving only the skull behind.

„The ritual may now commence."

Syzoth then put the skull in the middle of the room.

And taking out a knife, he gave himself a slight cut.

Blood stared flowing out, and Syzoth used it to make some circle around the skull.

To the northern side of the skull he made a sign of a snowflake.

To the east E.V.A guessed the form looked the same as the sun.

At the south was a snake, and at the west was a warning crescent

Then, when Syzoth seemed to be done something else went outside.

E.V.A was so immersed in the process the reptiloid was performing she only now realized something was off.

It was to quiet outside.

The attacks from monsters seemed to have suddenly stopped.

And it also seemed like the entire defenses of the base was gone to.

But outside, just a few hundreds meter away from the mountain only one figure stood.

Around her, thousands of corpses from all kinds of monsters stood.

It seemed like she was the reason why the attacks stopped.

She literally killed everything around the base.

Then E.V.A realized something else.

The entire mountain was surrounded by hundreds of warriors.

Blue warriors made out of pure magic, each holding a katana in a hand, eagerly eying the mountain.

But for some reason, they didn't attack.

Then, the woman thar seemed to be the only being made out of fresh and blood in a kilometer radius screamed with a roar so powerful that even the ground started to shake.

„SYZOOOTH! I KNOW YOU ARE IN THAT MOUNTAIN! I HAVE TO ADMIT YOU REALLY GOT MY RESPECT FIR MANAGING TO ESCAPE FROM ME FOR SO LONG, BUT NOW YOU HAVE NOWHERE TO RUN!

I GIVE YOU TEN MINUTES TO LEAVE THIS MOUNTAIN AND GET OVER HERE, OR I SWEAR BY THE GODS THAT MY SOUL WARRIORS INCLUDING MYSELF WILL STORM THAT MOUNTAIN AND THAT BASE AND DRAG YOU OUT HERE.

IF YOU COME WILLINGLY OUT, I MAY GIVE YOU A QUICK DEATH, AND MAKE YOU INTO ONE OF MY SOUL WARRIORS. YOUR ALCHEMICAL SKILLS ARE STILL USEFULL!

IF YOU DON'T, WE WILL JUST GET OVER THERE AND DO TGE SAME, EXCEPT YOUR DEATH WON'T BE QUICK!

YOU GOT TEN MINUTES TO GIVE YOUR PRAYERS TO THE GOD YOU WORSHIP.

YOU NOW GOT NINE MINUTES LEFT!"

Syzoth after hearing that threatening voice didn't show any signs of fear.

He was more annoyed.

It was clear he knew the source of that voice, and also knew the person.

But for some reason, he decided to continue the ritual.

„Should I deal with her?", E.V.A asked.

The most important thing for E.V.A right now was to make sure that Syzoth completed the ritual in time and without problems.

„Don't worry. Everything shall happen in due time. Right now, thissss isss more important."

Then, starting to use his weird language again, Syzoth then sat on his knees in front of the blood circle, all the while cutting another one of his wrist.

The blood then started to gush out of both of his wrists, filling the circle up completely.

It was clear that Syzoth was in pain while doing the ritual, but for a reason unknown to E.V.A he continued.

Then, when the circle was completely filled up, the blood started to evaporate, and with it, the skull turned to dust.

In it's place now a bright light completely filled the room.

„My job here issss done. Now, I have an unwanted visitor to meet."

Syzoth left.

E.V.A, only giving him a small look, stared back at the source of the light.
