"So what happened yesterday your line wasn't going through?" Talia asked after when we got to our English class.
It was Tuesday, dad had dropped me off at school this morning since being grounded also meant I had to get rides to school from my parents only. I managed to avoid Darcy till I got to English class where I met Talia by the entrance.
"I'm grounded for two weeks so I won't be available for calls and stuff." I shrugged while bringing out my notes.
"Wow that's a bummer, I don't think I've ever been grounded before." she said.
"Never?" I was honestly surprised, was she really such a perfect kid from birth or were her parents just extremely loving towards her.
"Yeah never."
"Good day class." The English professor greeted as she entered the class.
Everyone began to stop their conversations and settled for the class so we did the same.
"Very well, let's begin," she said after the class had become calm.
"I believe this is your first class with me for most so I would like to say that this is an easy class provided you attend classes and submit your assignments on time you'd all pass, and for those retaking the class I hope you do better this time." she said to us in a kind voice. "To conclude the introductory speech, I am Professor Arlette Harper and I hope we enjoy this class together." she said and began the lesson for the day.
She was the nicest lecturer so far and I knew I was going to enjoy her classes for the rest of the semester.
The class ended an hour later with an assignment to write on any book written by Shakespeare. I had read at least three novels he wrote and I still had two at home so it was an easy one, with my love for novels and my fluent English I was sure as heck going to ace this class.
"You seem happy for someone who is grounded." The one and only biggest sadist I knew said falling into step with me.
I had parted ways with Talia cause she had biology class while I didn't, so right now I was on my way to the cafeteria, #my new favorite spot cause I was a sucker for great foods or junk, with a sweet smile on my face which was now bent into a frown.
"And I suppose that is bad?" I scoffed.
"I guess I should give this audio to mom, at the very least she'd hate you for live and you'll get in more trouble than you already are." He said with a wicked smile on his face.
"That's non of my business, you can do whatever you want with the record." I replied nonchalantly and walked ahead into the cafeteria. I believed that due to his reputation and how news spread in the school he wouldn't want to be caught dead with me. My theory was correct cause he came in and walked straight to a table with two guys already seated without sparing me a glance.
I took my order and left the cafeteria, he might be distracted now but I didn't want him to try and spoil my day anymore than he already had. The rest of the day was quite uneventful, I had only one class for the day which was English after which I gave myself a tour around the school while waiting for dad to come pick me. He said he would arrive at four and I still had two more hours left so I went to the school library to do my English assignment while waiting.
I picked MACBETH and began to read it, I had read it during preparations for a play back in middle school and it seemed quite interesting so I decided to use it for my assignment. It was about a Scottish general who was given some professy about being king then went ahead to take some bad advice from his wife which came right back to bite him and his wife of course. That was what I vaguely remembered though.
I had read the book for about thirty minutes when I felt like I was being watched so I looked up to see a figure that looked like Chris quickly duck behind one of the shelves.
"Could you seriously not let me be?" I asked as I stood up to confront him but there was no one there and it didn't even seem like anyone was leaving the library, was I beginning to see things. I sighed and returned to the book I was reading.
I managed to write about five hundred words by quarter to four so I decided to leave it at that for the time being, I put the novel back on the shelf and went to the gate to wait for dad. I checked my wrist watch and it was already four so I was expecting him to be here any minute.
"I didn't know you were still in school," Talia said when she saw me.
"I was waiting for my dad what bout you, I didn't know you had afternoon classes?" I asked, she had said earlier that biology was her last class of the day.
"I just stayed back to watch Chris practice match." she said with a dreamy look on her face.
"Practice match I didn't know about that." I said.
"It started by quarter past two and just ended fifteen minutes ago, it was a last minute decision for it to be held here so not much people knew about it." she shrugged.
"Okay." I nodded, if Chris was at a practice match there was no way he could have been in the library. Was I really being delusional?
"See you at school tomorrow?" Talia asked.
"Yeah sure, where's your ride?" I asked looking around.
"My mom's picking me up today her car broke down so she had to take mine to work, she's not here yet." she explained.
"Oh, but you just said...."
"I meant you, your dad's here." she said understanding what I meant to ask.
I turned around but there were no cars coming so what was she talking about. I was about to ask her when I saw my dad's car enter the street.
"How did you do that?" I asked her.
"Do what?" She asked. "Good day Mr. Andrews" she greeted my dad who had just pulled over before I could ask any other question.
I got into the car and said goodbye before dad drove off. Was college always this eventful?, first day of school I get picked on by the cheerleaders and now second day I get delusional and my only friend is a possible psychic just great.
