Ever since Song Fengwan thought of what she had said, she hadn't slept well the entire night.
She dreamed of Fu Chen.
In her sleep, when she threatened to pursue the Third Master of the Fu family, he suddenly appeared, scaring her out of her wits.
She broke out in a cold sweat and felt dizzy. She only got up at dawn to memorize some vocabulary books.
When Song Fengwan packed her bag and went downstairs, Song Jingren was already sitting at the dining table reading the morning newspaper.
She was a little surprised. She had to go to school for her morning classes at seven o'clock every day and woke up very early. She usually didn't get to see Song Jingren.
"Morning, Dad."
"Mmm." Song Jingren put the newspaper aside.
Ever since Jiang Fengya's incident, although there was no major conflict between the father and daughter, this lukewarm state was rather torturous.
"What's the matter with the company today? You woke up so early." Song Fengwan pulled out a stool and sat opposite him to eat breakfast.
"The art joint exam is in a few months. How are your preparations recently?"
"I'm fine." Song Fengwan lowered her head and ate the plain porridge.
"Do you still remember that you booked a course to study art in the capital? Last night, the Fu family called and asked when you were going over?"
Song Fengwan's fingers holding the chopsticks paused.
The art course in Beijing only accepted a limited number of students every year. Song Fengwan had obtained this spot because of the Fu family.
The Fu family handled all the class registration matters.
"Your mother and I spoke on the phone last night. This course is very rare to get into and will help you a lot. It would be a pity not to go."
Song Fengwan nodded. Song Jingren's secretary had already made it very clear yesterday.
Jiang Fengya did not dare to make a move for the time being. She could not delay her matters just to be on guard against Jiang Fengya.
"The Fu family said that they would arrange a house and a school for you. Your mother and I didn't agree at first, but Old Master Fu called personally, so we couldn't refuse."
The Fu family felt guilty toward Song Fengwan, so it was normal for them to arrange everything.
Yun City was more than a thousand miles away from the capital. The Song family's connections could not reach that far, so it was very difficulthg to entrust someone to do things.
These things were easy for the Fu family.
"However, this matter still depends on you. If you want to go, I'll reply to them as soon as possible. Your mother and I are quite busy with work, so we might not be able to take care of you over there." Song Jingren thought about how she would travel thousands of miles to study alone and was still a little worried.
"I want to go over." Song Fengwan didn't hesitate. She had always known what she wanted. "It's just a few months. It shouldn't be a problem."
Song Jingren was slightly stunned. He didn't expect Song Fengwan to be so decisive. "Then I'll call the Fu family later."
* * *
After Song Fengwan decided to go to Beijing, she went to school the next day to apply for leave.
At night, Song Fengwan had just finished packing some luggage and was sitting in the living room drinking hot tea.
"Fengwan, there's something important at the company tomorrow. I'll get Mr. Zhang to send you to the airport. The Fu family will pick you up there." Song Jingren pinched the space between his eyebrows. He felt that nothing was going well, so he casually lit a cigarette.
"There's no need. My mother asked my cousin to send me. He'll send me to the capital."
Song Jingren's fingers that were pinching the cigarette butt paused for two seconds. "Your mother…"
He had been at home for the past few days because he wanted to wait for Qiao Aiyun to come back.
She had been away from home for more than half a month. During this period, apart from discussing Song Fengwan's matters, the two of them had barely spoken on the phone.
There were some things that could not be explained over the phone. He had always wanted to find an opportunity to talk to her in person.
But he didn't expect that she wouldn't even come back for such a big matter like Song Fengwan going away to study. He narrowed his eyes and took a deep puff of his cigarette.
"Your mother is at your uncle's house?" Song Jingren's throat felt dry and painful.
"Probably." Song Fengwan wasn't very sure either. Qiao Aiyun didn't reveal much about her whereabouts.
Song Jingren pondered for a moment and opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something. In the end, he leaned over and extinguished the cigarette butt before getting up and going upstairs.
The Qiao family…
Song Jingren didn't dare to go.
Especially because his brother-in-law was not someone to be trifled with.
He had been feeling uneasy recently because he was also afraid that his wife's brother would suddenly come over.
Now that he hadn't come here, it could be seen that Qiao Aiyun must have said something in front of him to save Song Jingren some face.
Otherwise, that person would have rushed over long ago.
Song Fengwan looked down at her watch. "I'm having dinner with my cousin tonight. You don't have to leave me any food."
With that, she returned to her room to pack her things and left.
