Chatter...chatter...chatter
''Look at those blue flames...''
''So it's true... he really has awakened?''
''Of course it's true... the Oslon Academy Awakening Center posted it on the WHA website''
''Is his affinity not permanent mirroring whatsoever?...What does that have to do with flames?''
''How can I know?... It's not like this permanent mirroring affinity has existed before...''
''Holy smokes...He really told the other guy to lick the color of his own t-shirt for it to become colorless?''
''Does he really mean what he said...?''
''This guy is nuts?... really nuts!!!''
''I am sure he is just bragging. Lord punching bag has no backing... He cannot just push around young master Crux from the Fanoma family when he is well aware of the consequences''
Various conversations broke out in the cafeteria concerning Lucas' dramatic display.
Lucas kept on staring into the eyes of Crux, who growling in pain with obvious fear in his eyes, cursed at Lucas again ''You can't... do anything, you ..little.. !!''
Lucas sighed, clicked his tongue and spoke in a very dramatic , pretentious, tired voice... ''I tried to bail you and your sacred jewels out by just letting you lick you t-shirt till your t-shirt becomes colorless, but it seems like you prefer to be taught a lesson.''
Some of the onlookers, with various video recording features in their ID slots, had already turned on those recording programs at this point, as the dramatic clash between Lord Punching bag and the Fatso from the Fanoma guild of the Fanoma Family had grown increasingly intriguing.
The blue flame that danced on Lucas' right palm shot at lightning speed, towards the groin area of the fatso. The result was echoes and screams of Crux that caused many males to flinch from just imagining themselves in such a situation. The overall reaction however from both the sides of the males and females were that of shock, as Lucas actually dared stood his ground against someone with a prominent backing. Not only that, the defeated demeanor he always carried about for the preceding months after his parents passed away ,leading to the journey of his hellish life in the academy had now been replaced with a carefree, yet dangerous one, as though he was a parrot that could suddenly transform into a viper and bite anyone that dared to run him over.
Crux now finally lay face flat in a prone position on the ground, his breathing ragged, his consciousness finally fading, as his screams and snot full tears died down.
Even though this was the cafeteria for the third years and the geniuses among those awakened who were present here were mostly E class hunters, they did not want to interfere in a skirmish between Lucas and Crux. For some, the reason for not interfering was because they wanted to use Lord punching bag as a medium of entertainment, as usual. For others, it was because they dared not try interfere , as Crux was a spoilt brat from a prominent family who could turn on anyone he deemed trying to prey on his bullying victim, even if they did so with the intention of trying to get in Crux's good books.
Lucas sighed once more, clicked his tongue and resumed his former standing posture ''Such a pity your jewels will not remain forever crushed, Aunt Daffny will heal you in the end after all''
Two of Crux's lackeys quickly rushed to the scene and skidded off with him on their shoulders to who knows where, as he was too heavy for each of them to bear his weight individually.
Lucas finally reacted to his surroundings, not fazed by the gazes directed at him. He could perceive glances of fear, shock, intrigue, jealousy, discontent and.... admiration?
''The rest I understand, and I do not really care about such glances...but admiration?... I practically am not a saint?... so why?...ah... I guess I have stood up to him for his other victims...'' Lucas mused inwardly...
He ignored the onlookers who now returned to their tables and meals, and grabbed a serving of the bouffe for himself. Managing to finally find a secluded spot near a transparent glass window that radiated the not so warm nor cold temperature of the afternoon sun, he sat down, took a glass of orange juice and munched the five large hamburgers, then sighed in relief ''It's been so long since I managed to have a proper meal even at this place''.
From time to time, some glances were directed his way. As the geniuses among all of the third years who had awakened were practically E class hunters, he was now considered on par with them. The reason why Carl Swann was swollen headed was because he was a second year, yet he was not just an E class hunter but was an E+ hunter, almost breaking through to D class. This made Carl Swann a prodigy, who even had the guts to pick on some of the third years without experiencing even the slightest retaliation... This was a society were strength was practically law...This was the unspoken rule that governed the world.
Lucas had finished his meal. He glanced at his now soiled windbreaker and sighed. ''Maybe, I could have let him clean the food he spilled on my windbreaker....nerrrhh man, that would have been too easy... I should head home and pack up... '' He stood up and strolled out of the cafeteria .
Lucas observed various glances directed at him. Quite a number of people pointed their fingers at him with various expressions on their faces. He could guess this was due to the news of his prodigious awakening.
Little did Lucas know that the Oslon City Academy Students Website was trending with a piece of information that added more juice to his already anomalous situation.
Lucas stood at the gates of the Oslon City Academy and sighed. The next time he returned here, this place would be his home for a long time. He would be graduating from the academy in two years time, and during that period, he would have to live here.
''Damnation, I have to walk back home... I should have taken that arrogant young master's credits as additional compensation for trying to humiliate me... How can I be so good hearted?... ''
