However, at that moment, Shukaku, lying beneath Orochimaru's feet, angrily lifted his head and roared.
"You wretched insects! Each one of you dares to humiliate me! How despicable!!"
With his roar, the giant area of flowing sand beneath him began to stir. Waves of sand surged like a roaring sea, crashing towards Orochimaru and Rasa!
"All of you, die!"
The towering waves of sand, rising dozens of meters high, engulfed everything in sight. Anyone facing this force would have to consider carefully if they could withstand it.
Under the night sky, the dark, oppressive sea of sand cast a massive shadow. Even the distant Konoha ninja, upon witnessing this scene, couldn't help but gape in astonishment, mouths wide open in disbelief.
Orochimaru and Rasa both wore solemn expressions as they dodged the incoming attack.
"Boom—"
Tons of giant sand waves poured down from the sky like a cascading sandfall, a truly spectacular sight!
In mid-air, Rasa had already manipulated his gold dust to fly away to a distant location, while Orochimaru landed on top of a building before quickly distancing himself from the area.
For the moment, only Shukaku rampaged on the battlefield, and no one could stop his fury.
"Hahaha, tremble before me, insects! Hahaha!"
Noticing Orochimaru and Rasa fleeing in all directions, Shukaku's face twisted into a sinister, human-like grin as he laughed maniacally.
However, before long, his smile suddenly froze, and his expression turned to one of anger.
"That guy... I can feel it. That guy is nearby!!"
Elsewhere, within Konoha, a group of people in matching attire walked leisurely through the streets.
"Has Konoha's defense really weakened to this extent? We're walking around freely, and no one is stopping us," rasped a figure cloaked in white, crouching on the ground.
Hearing this, a tall figure with glowing green eyes spoke in a deep voice.
"They're just too afraid to approach. Those people are hiding in the corners, watching us nervously. The reason they don't dare make a move is likely due to one thing."
With that, he cast his gaze towards the tall figure leading the group.
Shaking his head, his voice lowered.
"To think I'd step foot into Konoha like this one day."
As if recalling something, he glanced at a brown-haired youth at the back of the group, who wore a blank expression. His oily green eyes gleamed with a hidden glimmer.
"Kakuzu, you sure are talkative today. You didn't act this way when we were together," the brown-haired youth remarked calmly, sensing Kakuzu's gaze.
In response, Kakuzu turned his head slowly and said in a low voice, "I'm just curious. After all, you're that man's grandson. Understanding your thoughts right now would help me understand the world better."
The brown-haired youth didn't get angry. His eyes flickered slightly as he replied in a composed manner, "Such a boring guy. The answers you seek will come if you continue following Lord Aizen. Why bother tormenting yourself?"
"Otherwise, why do you think I remain indifferent to everything happening around us? It's because I know that only Lord Aizen can bring about the world my grandfather wished to create."
Hearing this, Kakuzu remained silent, but a quiet gleam flashed through his oily green eyes.
'Indeed. Trust between people hasn't vanished; it's just buried by the filth of this era. If this era ends, that man should be able to bring back the beauty of humanity...'
At the front of the group, Aizen heard the exchange between Nawaki and Kakuzu but said nothing. The smile on his lips, however, grew slightly wider.
Just as everyone was strolling casually through Konoha, a heavy rumbling sound suddenly echoed ahead.
"Boom—"
The ground trembled violently, followed by a powerful gust of wind.
In an instant, the buildings ahead were crushed into rubble, and a fierce sandstorm mixed with debris swept towards the group, causing their clothes to billow loudly.
"Thud!"
At the back of the group, Nawaki stepped forward and swiftly formed hand seals.
"Mokuton: Wood Locking Wall!"
As his voice fell, several massive tree trunks erupted from the ground, intertwining to form a curved wooden wall that shielded the group from the sandstorm.
When the wind subsided, the wooden wall disappeared, revealing the calm group behind it.
Meanwhile, the Konoha ninja hidden nearby, who had been following them in secret, were left wide-eyed in disbelief at what they had just witnessed.
"Did... did I see that right? Isn't that the Wood Release jutsu only recorded as being used by the First Hokage?"
"It... it might not be the same technique, right? They say only Lord Hashirama could use it..."
Their murmured exclamations didn't concern Aizen and his companions.
At that moment, all the members of Las Noches, including Aizen, turned their attention to the massive figure now blocking their path.
"Boom!"
The colossal figure slammed a hand into the ground, its body leaning forward.
Its bulky form swayed slightly, revealing sharp teeth in its grotesque mouth, and its needle-like red and yellow eyes stared intently at the comparatively tiny Aizen. The beast growled angrily.
"Insect! Finally, I've found you! This time, no matter what, I'm going to tear you apart!"
Hearing this, the members of Las Noches were momentarily stunned, even the normally expressionless Ulquiorra showed a slight change in his face
The entire group exchanged odd glances at the large creature before them, which seemed a little dim-witted.
Everyone present knew, more or less, that Aizen was collecting the powers of the tailed beasts. Facing Lord Aizen, few tailed beasts could escape once they were targeted.
And now, a tailed beast had actually delivered itself right to them. This occurrence left only one thought in the minds of the Las Noches members.
Among the nine tailed beasts, this One-Tail Shukaku must be a brainless simpleton.
Facing Shukaku's enraged roar, Aizen merely smiled slightly, showing no anger at all, and warmly greeted him.
"It's been a long time, Shukaku. Congratulations on temporarily regaining your freedom again."
