"Zsshh—zsshh—"

In the deep, dark palace, only the sound of strong currents colliding could be heard continuously.

The ground was littered with scattered debris, and spiderweb-like cracks spread all over, showing that the previous battle here was far from easy.

Standing expressionlessly amidst the chaos was Ulquiorra, looking like a cold, young boy. His uniform was open, revealing clear muscles that contrasted sharply with his youthful face. On his left chest was a dark, ominous "1" engraved.

At this moment, he was pointing a finger at the fallen Baraggan on the ground. A green orb of chakra hovered at his fingertip, and the fierce currents in the air were drawn to it.

"Make your choice, Baraggan Louisenbairn," Ulquiorra said calmly.

Baraggan, covered in wounds, glared at Ulquiorra with a pained expression. Ulquiorra waited silently for his response, unbothered by Baraggan's hostile gaze.

"I agree to follow Aizen's arrangements," Baraggan said quietly, though unwillingly. He had no other choice.

He knew he couldn't defeat Ulquiorra, especially with Aizen watching the battle with unclear intentions. Even with his aging power, the second release Ulquiorra mentioned made him wary.

As a former king of Hueco Mundo, summoned to this new world by Aizen, Baraggan didn't want to lose his life here.

He wanted to see this world, plunder its power like the legendary Cherubin, and when strong enough, destroy the man who took everything from him.

So, he decided to endure and survive.

Baraggan glanced briefly at Aizen, who stood at a distance with a faint smile.

Having heard Baraggan's answer, the green orb at Ulquiorra's fingertip dissipated. He lowered his finger, looking at Baraggan coldly.

"Your choice is wise, though it conflicts with my intentions," Ulquiorra said icily. "In my view, all of you sinners deserve death. However, Aizen-sama wants to make use of you, though I think letting you off so easily is too lenient."

With that, a cold gleam flashed in Ulquiorra's green eyes. He lightly flicked his hand, and his sword flew out of its sheath!

"Shing!"

A sharp white flash cut through the air, and Ulquiorra's blade pierced Baraggan's left arm, pinning it to the ground.

"Reflect here for now; you're of no use at the moment," Ulquiorra said.

Baraggan merely grunted in pain but didn't resist. His gaze, however, was filled with hatred as he looked at Ulquiorra. The humiliation of being treated this way as a former king was unbearable, but for his future plans, he decided to endure.

Baraggan silently vowed to kill Aizen and Ulquiorra one day.

At that moment, Aizen, who had been observing quietly, walked over with a smile.

"Baraggan, do you have anything to say about Ulquiorra finding the emotions he sought, as a former comrade?" Aizen asked softly.

Despite his inner turmoil, Baraggan replied calmly, "Becoming human and abandoning all hollows, I doubt that's a result you wanted, Aizen."

Ulquiorra glanced at him without a word, while Aizen chuckled lightly.

"In this world, humans can possess powers equal to Shinigami and hollows. More interestingly, I found forces that can replace spiritual power and entities with hollow-like traits," Aizen said.

Hearing this, Baraggan fell silent, his curiosity and greed for this world growing. He decided to endure, planning to seize this power Aizen spoke of.

Aizen smiled, "Serve me well, and you may have the chance to regain your former power. You might even become king of Hueco Mundo again. For now, make sure to serve me, Baraggan."

Ignoring Baraggan's dark expression, Aizen turned to leave.

"Ulquiorra, bring that one along. His role isn't finished yet," Aizen said, referring to the Jinchuriki of the Five-Tails.

Ulquiorra nodded respectfully, grabbing the unharmed Five-Tails Jinchuriki, Han, and following Aizen out.

As the two departed, Baraggan, pinned to the ground with his arm burning, glared after them hatefully.

Just then, Ulquiorra turned back, his green eyes cold. "Remember, from now on, I am Espada No. 1. You will follow my absolute rule. If you refuse, then fight me to the death, though for you weaklings, that's an impossible task."

With that, he turned and followed Aizen out, their figures disappearing into the dark mist. The black "1" on Ulquiorra's chest lingered in Baraggan's sight.

Baraggan glared at the sword pinning his arm, his eyes cold as he spoke with gritted teeth, "Aizen, Ulquiorra, I will see you dead one day."

The palace echoed with his vengeful voice.

"Click, click, click..."

In the dark corridor, their footsteps echoed rhythmically.

Aizen's deep voice sounded ahead, "Ulquiorra, from now on, you command the Espada. I hope to see a different Espada under your lead."

Ulquiorra nodded, "Thank you for your trust. I won't let your plans have any regrets this time."

Aizen smiled lightly, "Why draw Baraggan's ire? It's unlike you. I don't care about him, as a true strong one needs wisdom, which he lacks."

Ulquiorra paused, then said softly, "No matter how small the threat, if it affects you, Aizen-sama, I consider it my failure. I want your mood to always be like the sun."

Aizen chuckled, "What if I look forward to the darkness before dawn?"

Ulquiorra bowed slightly, "Then I will do my best to extinguish the sun."

Aizen shook his head with a smile, "Ulquiorra, you're becoming more human. That sounds like flattery."

Ulquiorra hesitated, then honestly replied, "I speak from my true feelings. This emotion you gave me, Aizen-sama, I cherish it."

Aizen said softly, "Enjoy it. You will eventually regain your hollow powers. Even I can't say if you'll still feel this way then. Your powers represent nothingness."

Ulquiorra paused, then said, "It's enough to be by your side, feeling this as a human is my greatest joy."

Aizen's eyes sparkled, "Let's go. Perhaps there will be a turning point. Even divine plans have flaws. We only need to exploit those."

Their footsteps echoed again in the dark corridor.
