Under the glaring sunlight on this desolate land, an eerie breeze carrying a murderous aura suddenly rose.
"Kara kara."
The breeze, carrying dust and pebbles, swept across the field, hitting the crimson rock pillars that had stood there for an unknown amount of time. The sound they made was like the prelude to a death god's arrival, signaling the countdown to the ninjas' deaths.
A strange atmosphere enveloped the entire field. Both the Cloud ninjas led by Naimu and the Rock ninjas led by Nanli were visibly terrified, not daring to make a move.
They stood in place, bodies tense, cold sweat dripping down their foreheads. They didn't dare wipe it off, fearing that any slight movement would attract that man's attention.
Aizen looked at the group of Cloud ninjas with a slight smile in his eyes. However, Naimu felt no warmth from that smile, only a deep sense of indifference.
Standing respectfully behind Aizen were Saki, Ulquiorra, Sasori, and Hyūga Shohei. They had all accompanied him to face the Cloud ninjas.
Naimu, glancing at the solemn faces of the Cloud ninjas behind him, replied awkwardly to Aizen's earlier question.
"I cannot answer that, as a Cloud ninja."
Almost holding his breath, Naimu finished speaking and tensely awaited Aizen's reaction.
Aizen looked at him with a knowing smile and said softly, "It's fine. Whether it's for me or to resist the alliance of Rock and Sand ninjas, it doesn't matter. It's just one more Cloud ninja involved."
"This way, it saves me a lot of trouble."
"Since the Cloud ninjas have voluntarily chosen to participate, then let's see the strength of the Cloud ninjas. After all, I've heard that the current Third Raikage is known as the strongest man."
With a hint of amusement in his eyes, Aizen said softly, "With such a title, it would be unfortunate if he didn't have the strength to match."
Hearing Aizen's mocking tone, Naimu was a bit angry and retorted in a low voice, "Even you cannot face the strength of the Raikage. The entire Cloud village is confident in this!"
Aizen's smile widened slightly, "Really?"
"The Raikage you speak so highly of is hiding in a corner of the continent. Do you think someone like that can stand against me?"
Hearing this, the devout Naimu's face darkened, and he hoarsely responded, "You're just a coward hiding in the shadows. Someone like you can never compare to the Raikage!"
Hearing these words, Ulquiorra and the others behind Aizen had cold expressions, their gazes icy as they looked at Naimu. If not for Aizen's presence and lack of orders, Naimu would have been dead the moment he spoke.
However, Aizen didn't mind Naimu's words at all. He continued to smile faintly and said softly, "Your vision is limited to the Cloud village, so your understanding of information is narrow. To believe so firmly in the Raikage's strength is ignorant. The world you know is nothing but a bubble I can easily destroy."
Naimu's face was grim, unable to refute. Numerous evidences had already proven Aizen's power, even if not as exaggerated as he claimed.
After finishing, Aizen glanced at the people behind him and said softly, "I hope you understand the shortcomings of this era. Some people are destined not to fit into the new era because they do not know how to think. This means they miss the opportunity."
Then he looked at Shohei and smiled, "Let's go, Shohei. I'll take you to a place where you can return to Konoha conveniently."
Shohei nodded respectfully, not mentioning what to do with the Cloud ninjas who knew the inside story. He knew that once Aizen stopped talking to them, their fate was sealed.
As he thought this, Shohei felt grateful for choosing to submit to Aizen earlier and for the opportunity for freedom through Saki.
"Buzz."
With a strange spatial sound, Shohei stood beside Aizen, who gently tore open a dark void with his hand.
Shohei followed Aizen into the void. As it closed, the two disappeared from the spot.
After they disappeared, Ulquiorra, Sasori, and Saki looked coldly at the group of Cloud ninjas.
"Is Aizen-sama angry?" Sasori turned to ask Ulquiorra and Saki softly.
Ulquiorra shook his head lightly. Although he was gradually able to sense human emotions, he couldn't accurately judge anger, so he couldn't answer.
Saki, however, answered coldly, "Aizen-sama wouldn't be angry with these guys because, to him, they are just ants. But their words offended Aizen-sama, and that angers me."
Saki's pale eyes were filled with cold killing intent as he stared at the Cloud ninjas.
Being stared at like this, especially by someone as powerful as Saki, made the Cloud ninjas, including Naimu, look grim.
At that moment, Naimu regretted it. It seemed his previous words had caused irreversible consequences.
Hearing Saki, Sasori turned and looked at the Cloud ninjas. His young face showed a strange calm as he nodded and said, "I'm angry too."
At this moment, Ulquiorra said coldly, "Do it. Aizen-sama will be back soon. He wouldn't want to see these missed opportunities again."
Hearing Ulquiorra, the other two nodded slightly.
"Swish! Swish! Swish!"
With that, the three suddenly vanished from where they stood. Spraying blood and painful screams immediately filled the field. The Rock ninjas trembled as they watched the bloody scene, huddling together and praying.
Nanli-sama, please say the right words, or we'll end up like the Cloud ninjas. Please, Nanli-sama!
In a forest near Konoha, Aizen and Shohei appeared.
"Go, Shohei. I believe in your ability to unite the branch family ninjas."
Aizen smiled warmly at Shohei, his voice magnetic.
Hearing Aizen, Shohei was excited and respectful, "Rest assured, Aizen-sama. I won't disappoint you!"
Aizen nodded slightly and smiled, "From now on, it's up to you. I'll send Saki to contact you at the right time. You don't need to worry about the recent changes in the ninja world. Just focus on the Hyūga clan."
Shohei nodded respectfully, "I understand, Aizen-sama!"
Aizen nodded, turned slowly, and gently reached into the space, tearing open a dark curtain. As he stepped in, his body disappeared.
Watching Aizen leave, Shohei's pale eyes flashed with determination.
Suddenly, he thought of something, drew a kunai, and slashed himself, blood splattering.
Enduring the pain, he gritted his teeth and continued to wound himself.
The gentle sunlight shone on the forest, warm and soft.
In the dense bushes, a long trail of blood spread across the green leaves, extending toward Konoha.
In that direction, a young figure with a firm resolve, despite his pale face and severe, weakened condition, persisted for the safety of his clan members. All because of that promise from Aizen-sama.
