"Whoosh—"

As an eerie wailing sound rose and fell, the scorching sun bore down relentlessly. The howling wind swept up the yellow sand, racing across the vast expanse of this desert sea.

Under the high-temperature baking, every grain of sand was scalding hot, making the barren Sune Desert lifeless and devoid of vegetation.

The rising heat distorted the air, creating a mirage-like effect.

"Buzz—"

At this moment, an anomaly appeared in this desolate desert. The sky seemed to crack open, and under the intense heat, a black line slowly unfolded in mid-air. It tore the space apart, revealing a pitch-black hole.

From the dark space, three figures slowly emerged—it was Aizen and his companions, who had disappeared from Las Noches.

"Plop!" "Plop!" "Plop!"

The three landed softly on the desert floor, observing their surroundings.

Ulquiorra, with a calm expression, looked up at the sun high in the sky, squinting slightly as if pondering something.

So, this is the desert of the human world?

Aizen, standing in the middle, noticed Ulquiorra's actions and smiled slightly, his voice magnetic as he spoke.

"How do you find it, Ulquiorra? Seeing a natural landscape different from Hueco Mundo, are you looking forward to living as a human?"

Hearing Aizen's words, Ulquiorra bowed slightly and said softly.

"It's just a strange feeling."

He placed a hand over his heart, a complicated expression in his eyes.

"This pulsating blood seems to make me feel the existence of life. Now, I also need to rely on the sun overhead to survive. However, I have an expectation to live in such a weak form—how contradictory."

Aizen's lips curved slightly at Ulquiorra's words, and he said softly.

"Don't worry. Your current weak form is just temporary. Take this time to experience human emotions."

Then, Aizen turned slowly, looking towards the distant desert, his eyes gleaming as he spoke softly.

"Let's go. The Sand Village is just ahead."

With that, he began walking in the direction in front of him.

Ulquiorra was momentarily stunned by Aizen's words, then pursed his lips slightly and closely followed his footsteps.

At this moment, in the scorching desert, traces of human-built structures extended, marking the presence of civilization.

In this sand-filled area, bizarre buildings with arched roofs stood tall.

This was the Sand Village.

Even within the village, the intense heat and drifting sand from afar could be felt. The streets of the Sand Village were sparsely populated, with villagers covering their faces to shield themselves from the harsh conditions.

Unlike the more habitable Leaf Village, the Sand Village's climate was harsh. The adverse conditions were even worse than those in the Rain Village. No one liked being exposed to the sun's scorching heat, and human ingenuity was crucial in this environment.

Shaded, wind-protected buildings provided the villagers with comfort. Moreover, there had been frequent incidents of villagers disappearing recently, making staying at home the safest option.

At the end of the village street stood a simple house.

"Creak!"

The door of the house slowly opened.

A burly figure stepped out.

"Alright, Yuno, you don't need to come any further. It's just a regular meeting. Take good care of Yashamaru at home."

The burly man who stepped out turned and spoke in a gruff voice to a woman with a gentle smile.

Hearing his words, the woman named Yuno smiled gracefully and nodded slightly.

Beside her, a little girl with big dark eyes pouted, looking at the burly man with a wronged expression.

"Hey! Does Father only want Mother to take care of Brother? What about me? Ever since Brother was born, Father doesn't care about me anymore."

The little girl turned her head away, looking pitifully upset.

The burly man showed a slight bitter smile on his weathered face and said softly.

"It's my fault. I misspoke earlier. Don't be mad, Karura."

Then, he looked seriously at Yuno and said earnestly.

"Yuno, make sure to take care of our precious daughter Karura and Yashamaru at home."

He kept glancing at Karura, who was sulking.

Yuno couldn't help but laugh softly, watching the father and daughter with a satisfied smile, and replied gently.

"Yes, yes! I will take care of Karura and Yashamaru as if it's a mission, Captain Chitoro."

Hearing this, the little girl named Karura perked up her ears, her sulking expression easing slightly. Though still pouting, she turned her head around.

Seeing her turn, the burly Chitoro smiled gently, patting Karura's head and speaking softly.

"So, will Karura forgive Father now? Stay home and listen to your mother. I'll be back soon, and I'll bring you your favorite candy."

Hearing this, Karura's eyes lit up with a love for sweets, and she glanced at Chitoro, speaking in a soft voice.

"Then Father mustn't forget, okay?"

Chitoro smiled warmly and replied gently.

"Don't worry. I always treat my promises to Karura like a mission!"

Hearing this, Karura's young face showed a sweet, cute smile.

Under Yuno and Karura's watchful eyes, Chitoro walked towards the tallest building in the village.

As he walked along the hot street, Chitoro felt the respectful gazes of passing Sand Shinobi, a cheerful smile on his rough face.

However, inside, he felt no camaraderie for his fellow villagers, like a cold machine. He was counting down to a specific moment.

Three years ago, a magnetic, persuasive voice had suddenly echoed in his ears.

"Chitoro, quietly prepare. Three years from now, our plan will begin. At that time, I hope you can provide excellent conditions in the Sand Village."

Three years—a timeframe Aizen had once promised him. Now, that time was almost upon them.

This meant Lord Aizen was about to start his plan.

To end this war-torn era, overturn all past history, and usher in a new era of peace was about to be brewed by their hands.

This was what Chitoro was eager to see and what he was looking forward to.

He wanted to become a hero etched in that peaceful era!

He wanted to be a husband and father Yuno, Karura, and Yashamaru could be proud of!

This was Chitoro's persistence and the promise Aizen had given him.

Walking slowly down the street, Chitoro's eyes flashed coldly as he thought to himself.

I am not wrong. This era of constant war and conflict among ninjas should be ended.

As he thought this, his pupils suddenly shrank!

A familiar voice, as it had three years ago, echoed in his ears once more.

"Chitoro... quietly prepare... the time has come..."
