Hearing the voice that had suddenly appeared behind her, Sakuya's face instantly froze. Her wide, expressive eyes were open in shock. She slowly turned around as if in a trance.
Seeing the figure standing a short distance in front of her, her body suddenly trembled, and she whispered in disbelief, "Brother Sōsuke..."
At Sakuya's words, Aizen, who was standing behind her, slightly lifted the corners of his mouth. His deep eyes gazed at her as he softly said, "It's been a while, Sakuya."
As if unable to believe the reality, Sakuya lightly covered her mouth with her small hand, her tone filled with indescribable emotions. "How can this be..."
Aizen, smiling, slowly walked toward Sakuya. She stood there, eyes wide open, watching in a daze.
Aizen's tall figure stopped in front of her. He gently placed his hand on her head, softly ruffling her hair as he laughed lightly, "Is it hard to accept this, Sakuya?"
Hearing Aizen's words, Sakuya shook her head, looking up at him with an anxious expression. She loudly questioned, "Why? Why did Brother Sōsuke become a traitor to the village? You were already the Fourth Hokage. Why?!"
Her tears, which had previously stopped, started flowing again. She stared at Aizen with tearful eyes, waiting for his answer.
Aizen's smile slowly faded, and he looked at Sakuya with a complex expression. He softly said, "Because as long as I was in Konoha, I couldn't stop the ongoing wars in this world."
Sakuya's body shook upon hearing Aizen's words. Ignoring the tears on her cheeks, she trembled as she said, "But... you became a traitor to the village... Someone like you..."
She could no longer bear it, her shoulders shaking as she looked away, trying to stifle her sobs. "Growing up in the village, you don't even have a home anymore..."
"Why did it come to this? Everyone trusted you, why... Brother Sōsuke!!"
Seeing Sakuya with her head bowed, tears uncontrollably streaming from her eyes, Aizen's expression flickered with uncertainty. His expression grew more complex, and finally, he let out a faint smile.
He lightly shook his head and looked at Sakuya, chuckling, "You're still a naive child, Sakuya."
Hearing Aizen's words, Sakuya paused her sobbing and looked up at him with red, rabbit-like eyes, not understanding why he would say that.
With a slight smile, Aizen softly said, "I thought that besides growing stronger over these years, you would have also grown in your understanding of the world."
He reached out, gently patting her head, and softly said, "Who would have thought you still haven't grown up, just like a child."
Hearing Aizen's words, Sakuya wiped away her tears, looking at him with red eyes and a choked voice. "Brother Sōsuke, why do you say that? You've done such a terrible thing, abandoning me, no... abandoning all of us."
Aizen slightly smiled and softly said, "First of all, Sakuya, from now on, call me Aizen."
"My full name is Aizen Sōsuke."
Hearing Aizen's words, Sakuya's tears completely stopped, and she looked at him in a daze, murmuring, "Aizen... Sōsuke? Brother Aizen, did you change your name?"
To this, Aizen lightly shook his head and chuckled, "This has always been my true name."
His eyes slightly narrowed, gleaming with a sharp light as he softly murmured, "Bearing the name Aizen, I came to this world destined to become the highest being."
Hearing Aizen's words, Sakuya didn't understand the true meaning behind them, thinking it was just a statement about his existence in the world. She spoke worriedly, "But... you're now a traitor to the village. Being an enemy of Konoha is too..."
"Sakuya, Shino is still alive."
Before Sakuya could finish, Aizen interrupted her with this statement.
Hearing this, Sakuya froze again, feeling more shock today than ever before.
"How is that possible..."
She murmured in disbelief, her face full of doubt.
Seeing her reaction, Aizen's lips curved into a smile, his eyes shining with an unusual light as he spoke in a mesmerizing tone, "It's true. Your brother, Uchiha Shino, is still alive."
Upon receiving Aizen's confirmation, Sakuya looked at him with a stunned expression and whispered, "But... didn't he die in the Sand Village? Did you save him, Brother Aizen?"
Seeing her reaction, Aizen's smile deepened, and he gently nodded.
Receiving this news, Sakuya suddenly shed tears of joy. Her face lit up with a smile, but she kept wiping her eyes, unable to stop crying. Her voice trembled as she said, "That's... so good... Brother is still alive. It's really good..."
After a while, she suddenly looked up at Aizen with confusion. "Then why doesn't Brother Shino come back to the village?"
Hearing her question, Aizen's eyes gleamed as he softly said, "Because Shino also wants to save this war-torn world."
He glanced at Sakuya and continued in a gentle tone, "And also... to protect the sister he loves the most."
Hearing Aizen's words, Sakuya was momentarily stunned, her mind flooded with memories of her life with Shino.
"Hey, Brother, I'm going to take the Chuunin exam."
"You're still too immature. No, I'll explain to Father and your captain."
"No! I've already gotten Father's permission. Honestly, can't you respect my decision, Brother?!"
"..."
"Brother, today's my birthday. Did you get me a gift?"
"Ninja should focus on their training, especially you, Sakuya. Hard work now will help you survive on the battlefield later."
"Ah! Just say you didn't get me anything! So annoying, lecturing your sister all the time. I hate you, Brother!"
"..."
"Bang!"
Sakuya stormed off.
That night, she returned to her room and, before sleeping, noticed a pot of the 'chrysanthemum hibiscus' she had always wanted on her desk.
"This is..." She looked at the rare plant in surprise.
She thought for a moment, remembering she had only mentioned liking this plant to her mother. With a warm smile, she murmured, "It must be from Mother. Only she thinks of her beloved daughter, hehe."
The next day.
"Mother, thank you for the gift. I love the 'chrysanthemum hibiscus'."
"Silly girl, what are you talking about? I already bought you ninja tools as a gift."
Sakuya paused, murmuring, "Then who put the 'chrysanthemum hibiscus' on my desk?"
"It must have been Shino. No wonder he's been so tired lately. Sakuya, stop troubling your brother. That rare plant is..."
Sakuya didn't hear the rest, murmuring, "It couldn't have been Brother..."
Memories flooded her mind. Sakuya looked at Aizen with a complex expression and said, "Thank you, Brother Aizen, for saving my foolish brother."
Aizen's smile widened, and he softly said, "It was a small thing. Besides, Shino agrees with my views on the world."
Hearing this, Sakuya hesitated and asked in a soft voice, "Are you really going to be an enemy of the entire ninja world, Brother Aizen?"
Aizen didn't answer directly but softly asked, "Sakuya, have you ever been to other countries?"
Sakuya lightly shook her head.
Aizen continued, "If you saw the twisted state of this ninja world, would you choose to save the people living in suffering?"
