Nagato and Konan felt a bit wary, but seeing the attire of the person in front of them, they slightly relaxed.

The young man before them wore a black-and-white uniform, clearly indicating that he was a member of Las Noches.

They just didn't know when this young man had arrived.

Aizen had never mentioned that there were other people in the palace, so Nagato and Konan were a bit surprised to see this young man.

They hadn't expected there to be other children in Las Noches aside from themselves and few others.

Konan, looking at the indifferent expression on the young man's face, hesitated slightly. She clasped her hands in front of her chest and spoke softly.

"Sorry, we accidentally intruded here."

"Hope you don't mind, we will leave immediately."

Hearing Konan's words, Nagato slightly shielded her with his body, both of them watching the young man's expression, ready to leave immediately upon his approval.

However, the young man's expression seemed slightly strange to them.

His face bore a peculiar look, his melancholic green eyes fixated on Nagato shielding Konan.

His indifferent face seemed to show some confusion and complexity.

For a moment, Nagato and Konan exchanged puzzled glances, not understanding why the young man didn't respond.

Just as they were about to quietly retreat, the young man standing in the vast, empty hall spoke in a cold voice.

"Girl, I can feel the power that Lord Aizen bestowed upon you."

Hearing his words, Konan was slightly stunned. She looked at him, surprised.

"How do you know that?"

Nagato, on the other hand, looked at Konan, confused.

When did Lord Aizen give Konan power?

The young man, his face calm and unmarked by any emotion, simply observed them quietly. He showed no reaction to Konan's question and spoke coldly.

"With the gift of Lord Aizen, is this all the strength you have?"

"Sorry, but I don't feel any aura of strength from you. You're even weaker than the group I once interacted with."

His tone was flat, stating it as an undeniable fact, which made it even more hurtful.

As expected, upon hearing his words, Konan's face turned pale, drained of all color.

His words were like a sharp sword, piercing the most vulnerable part of her heart.

The deep-seated inferiority she had kept hidden surged up like flowing blood.

Ever since Lord Aizen saved her, she had lived a peaceful life. Both Yahiko and Nagato had greater strength and talent than she did.

She trained diligently, trying to deceive herself into believing she could help Lord Aizen in some way.

But in reality, she had achieved nothing.

Among the children Lord Aizen trained, her abilities were the weakest. Yet, Lord Aizen had once placed great expectations on her.

Despite small progress here and there, she could subconsciously feel that she hadn't contributed anything significant to Lord Aizen's plans. She had only been under his protection.

That's all.

Thus, when this young man mercilessly exposed this truth, Konan's face turned deathly pale, and she fell into deep dejection.

Nagato, sensing Konan's sudden drop in spirits, looked solemn.

He tightly stared at the young man, his Rinnegan eyes hiding a trace of anger. He spoke in a deep voice.

"No matter who you are, don't you think it's too much to speak like that to a girl?"

The young man remained calm, his green eyes glancing lightly at the dejected Konan. He replied calmly.

"Are you implying that human females are naturally justified in showing weakness?"

His gaze shifted to Nagato, and he continued calmly.

"Sorry, although I don't understand some of the implicit rules of the human world, from my understanding, weakness means death, even for females. They strive to evolve to survive."

"Moreover, being noticed by Lord Aizen while remaining so weak is unacceptable."

Hearing his words, Nagato frowned, puzzled by the implications of this guy's words.

What did he mean by evolution?

Why did he keep referring to the human world? Was this guy not human?

But there was no time to ponder these details now.

The guy's words had made Nagato furious. He could feel Konan's spirits sinking lower because of them.

With this in mind, he stared coldly at the indifferent young man before him and spoke in a deep voice.

"Although I don't know who you are, since you keep talking about strength, let me see your power."

"If I defeat you, I want you to apologize to Konan for what you said."

Nagato's face was tense, his eyes coldly fixed on the indifferent young man.

Hearing this, the young man glanced at Nagato with his green eyes, speaking calmly.

"Although the possibility is almost nil, I can agree to your request."

"After all, a suitable wager might be a driving force for humans to strive."

"For me, I only need to make you realize your weakness. This time, I'll personally evaluate the strength Lord Aizen needs."

"Failure will be the farthest term from Lord Aizen."

Hearing their exchange, the dejected Konan glanced at Nagato, her voice weary.

"Don't, Nagato."

"He is right. For Lord Aizen, I have indeed been of no help."

"And this is the palace Lord Aizen ordered us not to enter. Fighting here will surely bring us trouble. Let's leave."

Nagato looked at Konan's pale face, feeling heartbroken. He spoke softly.

"Don't worry, Konan."

"I will make this guy apologize for his words because you are not what he says."

With that, he looked sternly at the young man not far from him and began to approach him step by step.

Konan watched Nagato's back with a worried expression, her small hands clenched tightly, veins showing.

In the empty hall, the young man stood there, straight and indifferent.

His green eyes watched Nagato approaching, his gaze cold. He spoke calmly.

"Are you ready?"

Hearing this, Nagato lifted his head, his Rinnegan eyes fixed coldly on him, and spoke in a deep voice.

"Make your move."
