-------------------------------------------------------------
As Kakuzu continued to charge towards Nawaki, his pupils suddenly contracted, his face changing as he said in a deep voice, "This is the First Hokage's move?!"
But it was only a moment before he frowned deeply, continuing, "No, the scale of the technique is too different!"
Hearing Kakuzu's comment, Nawaki sneered slightly and responded, "While I haven't reached my grandfather's level yet, just this technique alone is enough to deal with you! Witness the power of Wood Style!"
Realizing he was only facing a young descendant of the First Hokage, Kakuzu felt a mix of humiliation and anger over his momentary fear. His eyes, cold and green, stared intensely at Nawaki as he said solemnly, "Very well, I hope your strength satisfies me. That way, I'll look forward to taking your heart even more!"
Nawaki's brow furrowed slightly, and as he willed it, the ground erupted with massive tree trunks, like mighty serpents, continuously surging towards Kakuzu. These large and sturdy trunks thrashed about wildly.
Although the scale of the Deep Forest Emergence that Nawaki unleashed was nothing compared to the legendary First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, who reportedly created an entire forest with this technique, the fact that such a young individual could release this ninjutsu and achieve such terrifying scale was commendable.
"Boom! Crash! Boom!" The giant trees kept emerging from the ground, tearing the earth apart, rocks surfaced, and the deep-colored massive trunks like arches uniformly smashed towards Kakuzu who was still in motion.
"Crash—"
With a loud crash, the trees twisted together, slamming hard into the position where Kakuzu stood. The severe impact sent dust flying, slightly obscuring the view.
Nawaki's face showed a hint of excitement, his eyes fixed on that spot, he murmured, "Did it work?"
Meanwhile, Aizen and Saki observed quietly from a distance. Aizen softly commented, "This child has grown quite well. Good work, Saki."
Hearing Aizen's words, Saki's body slightly shook, and he respectfully said, "Aizen-sama, everything is for our grand plan. For me, achieving that new world is worth any sacrifice."
Aizen nodded slightly, his lips curled into a smile, his eyes sparkling with a hint of brilliance. 'A new world, huh?' Seeing the past experiences of Aizen, he gradually had another idea. Perhaps, this world could also create such individuals.
At that moment, the situation on the field suddenly changed!
"Boom—"
As a loud noise erupted, Kakuzu's figure unexpectedly burst from the ground right where Nawaki was standing. His fist, dark and gleaming as if coated with iron paint, furiously smashed towards Nawaki, who stood still.
This sudden development took Nawaki by surprise, momentarily throwing him into a panic. But in an instant, he calmed his mind, thinking through his options. "I can't release Deep Forest Emergence again; I only have enough chakra for one attempt."
With that thought, he willed the nearest tree to change direction, twisting and lashing towards them.
"Swoosh!"
A particularly large trunk, like a massive beast, positioned itself between Nawaki and Kakuzu.
Nawaki's expression grew grave.
The next moment.
"Crash!"
With a terrifying collision, the giant trunk was shattered by a punch, falling apart on the ground like a segmented dragon.
Kakuzu, expressionless, continued advancing towards Nawaki, coldly saying, "Kid, such power of Wood Style is nothing compared to the First!"
Nawaki, facing Kakuzu now mere inches away, his face taut with no trace of fear but instead a cold smirk, coldly said, "Is that so? Well, let's see if you can handle what comes next!"
As his words fell.
"Crash! Crash! Crash!"
Amid terrifying sounds, massive tree trunks furiously burst from the ground, locking Kakuzu tightly in place like monstrous chains.
Kakuzu's brow furrowed tightly, immobilized, as the thick tree branches tightly bound him. If it were not for his body being completely hardened by the Earth Style Ninjutsu, just the pressure alone could have suffocated him.
At this moment, Nawaki finally breathed a slight sigh of relief, a smile curling at the corner of his mouth as he looked at Kakuzu up close, and softly said, "You've probably never been trapped by my grandfather's Deep Forest Emergence, which is why you're still alive today. Let me tell you, these trees will grow by absorbing the chakra of those they touch."
"They'll keep you bound here, continuously draining your chakra until there's none left," he continued, his eyes slightly downturned as he spoke softly. "And one more thing, even though my grandfather's Wood Style is much stronger than mine, to deal with someone insignificant to him like you, even his inconsequential grandson is more than enough."
Listening to Nawaki's words, Kakuzu's green eyes emitted a cold light, though he couldn't move.
"Crack! Crack!" The trees, nourished by the abundant chakra, grew bit by bit.
With the tree trunks rapidly growing, layer upon layer of branches continued to wrap around Kakuzu, eventually completely covering his figure.
Seeing this, Nawaki's shoulders relaxed slightly, and he let out a breath, a hint of relief on his face. "Phew! Almost embarrassed myself in front of Sōsuke-nii, but I managed to bind him at the last moment!"
Just as Nawaki turned to look at Saki and Aizen, ready to boast with a slight smile, the expressions of Aizen and Saki changed subtly.
Aizen's eyes briefly flashed with a spark of intrigue, and his lips curved into a faint smile. 'This is an interesting way to live,' he thought.
Saki, frowning lightly, looked towards the densely packed tree trunks that bound Kakuzu, murmuring, "He can still break free from this technique."
As Nawaki looked at them, smiling and about to wave, Saki's voice, full of magnetism, slowly reached his ears, "Nawaki, your opponent is not down yet."
Startled by his words, Nawaki quickly turned to look behind him.
"Boom—"
With a heavy thud, the massive tree trunks that had bound Kakuzu suddenly shattered. Splinters and a fierce blast of air spilled out, forcing Nawaki to shield his face with his hands, struggling to peer through the haze.
Through the dusty mist, five terrifying, tall figures appeared where Kakuzu had been bound.
Seeing this unclear scene, Nawaki's face tensed up, his expression grave. "What kind of monster is he!?"
As the dust settled and the figures became clearer, Nawaki was even more shocked. There stood Kakuzu, his chilling green eyes fixed intently on Nawaki. His body was covered in stitched scars visible on his exterior.
Even more astonishing, around him stood four creatures formed from dense, eerie black threads, standing on the battlefield. These creatures, with their sinuous black threads writhing like hunting beasts, bore bone-like masks over what appeared to be their most crucial organs—their hearts.
Seeing this, Nawaki felt a chill. "What kind of monster are you?" he called out coldly to Kakuzu.
Kakuzu, not rushing to act, glanced at the four thread-bound creatures at his sides, his face expressionless, his voice raspy, "A monster? These are the Earth Grudge Fear from Takigakure, the secret that has kept me alive to this day."
He then looked coldly at Nawaki, his voice deep, "Kid, I admit you're very strong, but as you see, you will become part of my body. Your heart will make me even stronger."
As he started forming hand signs, Nawaki's face paled slightly.
From a distance, Aizen watched this unfold, his eyes slightly narrowed. His gaze stayed on the four thread-bound creatures beside Kakuzu, unbothered by their form but intrigued, pondering something.
Something seemed to amuse him, and his lips curled into a slight smile, his eyes twinkling as he murmured softly, "Kakuzu, huh? Earth Grudge Fear, such abilities are indeed impressive."
