Xaviera Evans looked confused and didn't understand Caleb Mamet's meaning. She looked up and met the man's deep eyes, and then heard his low, hoarse voice, "Knowing that someone wants to hurt you, yet you still bravely went to Lounge 109 alone? Xaviera, are you getting bolder and bolder?"
Xaviera guiltily lowered her head, muttering quietly, "Could that drunken fool really hurt me? Plus, I'm fine now!"
He leaned down, getting closer, and Xaviera pressed against the wall with her legs trembling nervously.
Anger appeared in the man's usually calm eyes, "Are you so confident you won't encounter danger? This time it was Kori Drew, but what if next time it's someone even more powerful than you? Can you still ensure your safety then?"
Xaviera didn't expect Caleb to get so angry over this, and quickly lowered her head to admit her mistake, "It won't happen again, I'll take care of myself."
"Xaviera, I don't want this to happen a second time."
