Willie Novak's impatient dismissal of her did not surprise Penny Kalafatis. It seemed she'd grown used to it. She bit her lip, slowly pulled herself up from the ground, and left the restroom.
There was a crowd waiting outside. The looks they gave Penny combined sympathy with a touch of contempt. Willie's assistant was the one to break the silence, "Miss Kalafatis, the boss said he knows what you want. He asked you to go to the auction venue first, he will be there shortly."
Penny sighed in relief, straightened her back. Even if she couldn't match up to Xaviera Evans in Willie's heart, she was the only woman by Willie's side, and she intended to remain there forever.
