When Willie Novak hung up the phone and looked at the computer again, his pupils suddenly tightened; all the emails sent to Xaviera Evans were marked as 'Read'.
Five minutes earlier, Xaviera returned to her room, not understanding why Willie thought she would accept those gifts and flowers. In the past, he had set fire to the Collection Court, stole her grandfather's medical books, and almost killed her grandfather. No normal person could ever forgive him for that.
Feeling bored alone in the room, Xaviera held her laptop and sat on the bed browsing casually. Suddenly, she remembered the man's words outside the door: Willie had apparently sent her many emails.
Her curiosity piqued, Xaviera opened her inbox and saw about fifty emails sent by the man over the years. She started reading them from the beginning.
