The puppy biscuit was incredibly crisp, emitting a distinct sound with each bite. Its fragrance filled the air around them, captivating both individuals. Xu Le observed the girl in astonishment, finding the scene rather absurd. Why would she eat his biscuit so casually and naturally? In his subconscious, as soon as the girl's finger left the biscuit bag, Xu Le hastily reached out to take a biscuit, fearing he would miss out.
The girl was engrossed in reading a magazine, occasionally glancing up, indicating that she was also aware of Xu Le's presence. Her face was mostly hidden under a deep azure hat, with only her delicate lips and fair complexion exposed. Xu Le was momentarily captivated, fearing his gaze might make her uncomfortable, so he quickly averted his eyes.
As the warm bus started moving through the wind and snow, Xu Le was surprised to see the girl reaching into her pocket and taking out one biscuit after another. Xu Le had a fondness for puppy biscuits, and this was his first time trying them. He treasured them, even though he didn't pay much attention to a bag of biscuits. He couldn't help but feel annoyed that she didn't ask for permission or seek his agreement before eating his biscuit.
The girl seemed determined and paid no attention to Xu Le. She ate the biscuit without hesitation or politeness, chewing it with gusto. Dumbfounded, Xu Le hurriedly reached out to take a biscuit for himself, fearing he would be left with nothing. Did he owe her something? As the bus rumbled along the road, the young man and woman sitting in the back row avoided eye contact. One looked out of the window, while the other focused on a magazine in their lap. They both took biscuits, competing to finish them first, with an unspoken understanding. Little did they know, hidden beneath this apparent harmony, there was an undercurrent of unspoken aggression.
Xu Le smirked to himself, thinking, "How bewildering! If it weren't for me, this audacious thief stealing my biscuits would have been scolded mercilessly."
As Xu Le gazed at the snowy landscape outside, chewing his biscuit, a rare disdainful expression crossed his face. As time passed, his previous anger dissipated. He had a generous nature and couldn't bother with such trivial matters. Instead, he smiled inwardly, thinking that he had encountered someone who couldn't resist the allure of puppy biscuits, and today, this bag of biscuits could be considered a shared delight.
Xu Le was not stingy and willingly shared his good things with others. It didn't matter that the girl's behavior was somewhat absurd with her long hair and hat. He had no intention of arguing further but felt that the situation was a bit awkward. He worried that the girl might feel uncomfortable, so he refrained from initiating a conversation or even glancing in her direction.
The bus continued on its route through the snowy path, eventually reaching the outskirts and heading toward the ordinary airport in the northwest of the capital. The glass windows of the bus occasionally brushed against the branches of cedar trees, producing a sound that roused the drowsy passengers. Xu Le looked at the girl, who had raised her head, revealing a clear and attractive face. Xu Le smiled warmly, but to his surprise, he noticed a hint of displeasure in the girl's clear eyes. She immediately averted her gaze, burying herself in the magazine. After a while, as if feeling her aloof attitude was inadequate, she took a pair of black-framed glasses out of her handbag and put them on, effectively blocking Xu Le's bewildered gaze.
The girl wearing black-framed glasses seemed even clearer and more captivating, especially from Xu Le's angle. Scratching his head, Xu Le wondered why this seemingly innocent girl had stolen his biscuit so wickedly. As a young man from a remote area, he was always somewhat cautious around the opposite sex. Sighing inwardly, he decided not to say anything.
As the girl with black-framed glasses continued to eat the biscuits, Xu Le followed suit, taking them in the same manner as before, with a smile and relishing each bite. Although he was amiable, he didn't want to be left with nothing to eat.
This continued until there was only one biscuit left in the bag, indicating that it was now Xu Le's turn to take one. Xu Le couldn't help but notice a slight wrinkle in the elegant nose under the girl's black-framed glasses, as if she was worried about something. Silently grinning, Xu Le took out the last biscuit from the bag. After a moment's thought, he broke it in half and, with a warm smile and cautiousness, offered the front half to the girl.
The girl raised her head, looking somewhat surprised and slightly angry. She snatched the biscuit like a kitten, swallowing it in one gulp, nearly choking in the process. Xu Le chewed the remaining half biscuit while dumbfoundedly gazing at her. What was she worried about? Was she that hungry? He even considered offering her his water, but he was concerned she might reject his gesture.
The sound of brakes interrupted this little drama.

"Continuously thanking someone who doesn't deserve it is truly a shameless degenerate!" Zhang Xiaomeng dragged her heavy luggage, lowering her weary head as she walked toward the airport counter. After a seven-day space journey from the S2 administrative area, she had to immediately transfer to the university city. Exhausted from the trip and burdened by a heavy weight in her heart, she encountered an extremely tactless and despicable young man on the bus.
"He may be tall and pleasing to the eye, smiling with the innocence of a pig. Little did I know he was an ungrateful villain deep down, stealing my biscuit as if it were his own... That small-eyed fellow is truly no good." Zhang Xiaomeng muttered under her breath, unable to bear her frustration.
Entering the terminal, Zhang Xiaomeng took off her black-framed glasses and diligently cleaned them, seemingly attempting to vent her anger through this action. Little did she know that there was a bag of unopened puppy biscuits in her handbag!
If this bag of biscuits was hers, then what happened to the bag she had on the bus? Did she eat someone else's biscuit? She wrongly accused him, and he had actually shared his biscuits willingly...
Zhang Xiaomeng stood up, frantically searching for any trace of that small-eyed male student to apologize. However, in such a busy airport with numerous flights, how could she expect to find him on this plane? She sat back helplessly, shaking her head in regret, realizing she had wrongly accused the young man. What mattered even more was the half biscuit that the young man had handed to her with a temperate smile. Apart from feeling deeply embarrassed, she couldn't express the warmth she had felt. It had been a long time since she had experienced such genuine warmth.
The world was vast, and she might never see that boy with the lovely smile again. She couldn't apologize anymore. Zhang Xiaomeng felt a deep sense of regret, as if she had missed something precious. The air around her felt heavy with regret.
Little did she know, in the first-class cabin of the plane, Xu Le adjusted his comfortable seat restlessly, subtly asking the stewardess, "Are you sure there's free semi-synthetic beef steak? The kind that's half natural, half artificial?"
"Yes," the stewardess replied, barely suppressing a smile as she observed this honest young man.
Xu Le breathed a sigh of relief. He knew he should be low-key as a fugitive, having just completed his military service and unlikely to have enough money for a first-class ticket. But he couldn't resist the temptation of the semi-synthetic beef steak, and he happened to have quite a bit of money on his card. The young man blushed when the stewardess crouched down in front of him and said with concern, "You shouldn't crouch down like that all the time; it must be tiring."
The stewardesses couldn't help but smile, their joy radiating from within. Xu Le, flustered by their beauty, trembled as he hastily asked, "How much longer until we reach the university city?"
