Chapter 20 - Some fists must knock out the fist

The boss was injured. After hearing these words, Xu Le's mood grew anxious, and ominous feelings filled his mind. More than two years ago, during the college entrance exams, if the military could locate the boss through the electric shock stick, then Li Weihe and the group of orphans would likely be under control as well. Xu Le knew Li Wei's personality well and was certain that unless pushed to the brink, he would never betray his good friend. Is Li Wei okay now?

Human rights? What are human rights? Is it the pain caused by the hard fists and boots of these soldiers? Xu Le couldn't help but feel a sense of indignation. Although he had always believed in the existence of justice and truth in the world during his 17 years of life, he was well aware that if the boss was truly a traitor as the colonel claimed, then in the process of apprehending him, all laws and regulations and personal rights would be overshadowed by the fury of the entire Federation, trampled under their boots.

Xu Le was a stubborn young man, but he wasn't filled with empty student rhetoric in his mind. He didn't expect the power of his attorney to save him this time. Instead, he understood the actions of these soldiers very well. Understanding, however, did not mean resignation or acceptance. Even if he was angry, he knew better than to foolishly fight back against these soldiers like a cornered wolf. Such an action would only bring more pain. He simply bowed his head in peace and endured.

In his tranquility, there was also a mix of bitterness and anxiety. Was the boss really a treasonous soldier? Treason and desertion from the military were two completely different concepts. Although Xu Le believed that Feng Yu was not a ruthless killer, the anger radiating from these soldiers made him somewhat uncertain.

"I must see Feng Yu and ask him face to face. If all of this is a huge injustice, I'll help him. If it's true..." A heavy blow struck Xu Le's chest, causing his blood to surge and his breathing to become irregular. The pain distracted him from his thoughts.

The soldier with outward-sloping eyes, who had been drinking water, suddenly fell to the ground. Xu Le took the opportunity to grab a water bottle from the camp and discreetly fill it. He had already figured out how to free himself from the plastic cord that bound his wrists. He couldn't understand why the military used such an alternative handcuff. The second step was to ensure that the soldier in the room didn't notice him and to sneak out through the window.

Outside the window, Xu Le saw the familiar crystal screen billboard in the distance. He knew this temporary camp in the fourth block very well and was aware of the sewer entrance that could provide an escape route. However, the key was timing. Xu Le didn't dare to expect that he could climb out of the window without making any noise. The room was surrounded by fully-armed soldiers, and although few of them paid attention to the window, if the soldier inside discovered him, he would have at most four seconds before the entire area was riddled with bullets.

It was a risky plan, but Xu Le didn't think about knocking out the soldier inside in exchange for more time. These soldiers were elite special forces from the Eastwood garrison army, and their military uniforms and equipment gave away their terrifying strength and lethal skills.

After a quick analysis, Xu Le made a decision within a short time. The soldier with outward-sloping eyes was still raising his head to drink water, unaware of Xu Le's movements. Xu Le's body trembled with familiarity as he tapped into a certain channel within himself, using the muscles in his chest and upper arm to generate heat. The tremor spread to his wrists and transformed into a concentrated strength.

With a resounding sound, the plastic cord around Xu Le's wrists broke! He quickly got up from the ground, braced himself with both hands, and stood still, not running towards the window.

Despair filled his eyes as he realized he had miscalculated. When he struggled free from the plastic cord, it emitted a distinct sound, immediately alerting the drinking water soldier who turned around. If Xu Le tried to climb out of the window again, even if he wasn't shot by the soldier, he wouldn't have enough time to reach four seconds.

The soldier with outward-sloping eyes turned around but didn't make any move. Instead, he opened his mouth in shock, looking at the young man standing before him. It seemed like he couldn't believe his eyes. How could this young man, whom he had previously struck to suffocation, be standing in front of him now? In that moment, doubt flashed in the soldier's eyes as he instinctively threw himself at Xu Le. He aimed a knee strike at Xu Le's hip and counter-elbowed Xu Le's neck with military precision.

Desperate, Xu Le stared at the soldier who pounced on him like a fierce tiger, but suddenly his eyes lit up. It was as if a thirsty traveler in the desert had suddenly stumbled upon a familiar green forest.

Although Xu Le wasn't familiar with the soldier's moves, he was exceptionally familiar with this feeling. As if listening to the wind, he naturally assumed a horse stance, tilting his body to the side. His hands were unevenly positioned, the left hand clenched into a tight fist, while the right palm collected the fingers together. He countered the soldier's elbow strike with his own movement.

The motion was incredibly natural and accurate, as if he had been using chopsticks to eat every day, and picking up a shelled peanut was an ordinary task.
