The Armored Titan's movement speed is incredibly fast, standing at a towering fifteen meters in height, and when it runs at full speed, it rivals that of a racing car.
He also noticed Lin Yi following closely behind with the vertical maneuvering equipment. If he could observe closely, he would notice a hint of intelligence in the eyes of this Armored Titan, revealing his true identity as one of the Nine Titans.
In reality, he is the Armored Titan among the Nine Titans. After transforming, his entire body is covered in steel-like armor.
And in this generation, the Armored Titan's host is a Marleyan warrior named Reiner Braun, or rather, a young child who knows nothing about the world.
Lin Yi followed the Armored Titan closely while secretly pondering about the information he had on his opponent.
Based on the original story, Reiner Braun is probably around twelve years old, yet he can already take on such significant responsibilities.
On the other hand, when Reiner noticed Lin Yi, he didn't pay much attention. His education, knowledge, and worldview all taught him that as a chosen Titan warrior, he was invincible against humans. He had encountered many foolish soldiers like Lin Yi along the way, and they were all easily crushed.
Reiner deliberately slowed down, as he needed to rendezvous with his comrades and couldn't afford someone trailing behind him.
Despite intentionally reducing his speed, Lin Yi was getting closer and even managed to be at the same distance as him.
Lin Yi was already adept with the vertical maneuvering equipment, skillfully manipulating the wires to propel himself through the air. He swiftly got behind the Armored Titan.
Reiner observed all this without expression, but the subtle changes in his pupils showed his intelligence.
Reiner did notice something unusual about Lin Yi, like the crimson long sword in his hand, something he hadn't seen before. The intelligence reports from Marley also didn't mention it.
However, he paid it no mind. Lin Yi was just a foolish human soldier in his eyes, and according to his teachings and knowledge, there was no way humans could defeat him, a Titan warrior.
As Lin Yi's figure entered the air, Reiner suddenly attacked, with incredible speed and force, aiming his right palm at Lin Yi like a powerful gust of wind.
Lin Yi controlled the vertical maneuvering equipment to dodge the attack narrowly.
But in the next moment, the wires shot out by the maneuvering equipment were grabbed by Reiner, who yanked them, pulling Lin Yi back to him.
The terrifying force made Lin Yi feel unbalanced in the air.
The mindless Titans wouldn't target the weak points of the vertical maneuvering equipment, but the Nine Titans, being intelligent beings, were different.
Reiner seemed satisfied with this, gripping the wire and swinging it towards a nearby building.
Reiner believed that Lin Yi's fate was sealed.
With a thunderous sound, the dust rose.
Reiner didn't bother to look anymore, shifting his gaze away, preparing to leave.
Although the Maria District had fallen, they didn't need to worry about the Shiganshina District. The Eldians wouldn't give up easily, and even if there was little hope, they would surely send troops to protect the civilians' evacuation.
If he lingered here, he might be targeted.
Reiner, despite his arrogance, wouldn't put himself in danger, especially since these mindless Titans attacked indiscriminately, even targeting Titan-shifters like himself.
However, just as Reiner was about to take a step, he suddenly stopped. He turned around, perplexed, looking at the place where the dust had settled.
"Shing Shing Shing~"
The wall was shattered, and half of the house collapsed. Did that human really survive?
But what was that sound?
"Seems like I'm not too familiar with it yet." Lin Yi waved his hand, dispersing the surrounding dust, leisurely walking out from within.
"If it were Captain Levi, maybe he would've dodged it."
After all, he had only used this equipment on the training ground before, and it was barely effective against regular mindless Titans.
At the crucial moment, he slashed through the wires with his sword, and Jörmungandr protection saved him, reducing the impact of the collision. However, he still felt like he was falling apart.
This was the power of a Titan, an explosive force far scarier than a SSS Ghoul.
Under Reiner's confused gaze, Lin Yi untied the vertical maneuvering equipment from his waist and casually threw it aside.
What did this mean?
Reiner couldn't speak in his Titan form, but based on the information he had obtained earlier, Eldia's main weapon against Titans was the maneuvering equipment, exploiting the weak points.
But now this human was discarding it, giving up the weapon that could help him fight against Titans.
Roaring in the distance interrupted Reiner's thoughts. More and more mindless Titans were rushing into the Maria District.
In this operation, each Titan had its designated role, with the Colossal Titan responsible for breaking through the Shiganshina District, and he was in charge of breaking through the gates of Maria. There was also a female Titan leading the mindless Titans into the city.
Time to leave.
Reiner made up his mind. If there were too many mindless Titans, he might be in danger as well.
Just as he took a step, he suddenly stopped again, turning around in disbelief, looking at Lin Yi below, who seemed like an ant from his perspective.
A blood-red light suddenly pierced through his palm, going through it.
"Roar!"
The Armored Titan roared in pain, and Reiner felt it too. He clutched his hand and retreated, bellowing in agony.
Reiner couldn't believe what he was seeing. His prideful steel armor had been effortlessly pierced through.
The twelve-year-old Reiner didn't have the maturity he would later develop after becoming the Armored Titan.
In other words, after becoming the host of the Armored Titan, he was naturally proud of his defensive capabilities and hadn't faced any true adversity.
Enduring the intense pain, Reiner stared wide-eyed at Lin Yi below.
The blood-red spike was now held in Lin Yi's hand, constantly wriggling and shrinking until it turned back into the long sword it was at the beginning.
What kind of weapon was this?
For the first time, Reiner felt the danger of his own life and a sensation called fear.
But Lin Yi just smiled.
He looked at the bloodstains on Jörmungandr's sword with interest. Every drop of blood that had yet to reach the ground was absorbed cleanly by the blade.
It seemed that it didn't want to devour mindless Titans; it simply looked down upon them. The power of the Nine Titans would still satisfy its appetite.
