Synopsis
Telonio is a high ranked adventurer out on a mission, a mission to find his past. Born with a strong body and a cold mentality, he climbs the ranks of the adventurers guild at an unstoppable pace, never taking a day for rest. During his adventures, he meets great friends and allies who he can truly call comrades, but it doesn't take long before disaster strikes. The Demon King has revived a few years too soon, with a hero too young to defeat him alone. Because of this, the Goddess Ariyana tasked Telonio and his team to help the young hero defeat the Demon King. As the price for defeating the Demon King, Telonio will be granted the reward of finding out just what happened in his past that led him to this moment. Will Telonio and his team be able to help the young hero defeat the Demon King? Or does the power of friendship knee before the power of the absolutes?

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Goblins and Quests

A goblin can be seen running throughout a cave system, a dark tunnel barely lit by the torches hanging on its rocky walls. Not far from the village of Taverilien, it loses bits of blood with every step. It looks back, trying to spot its pursuer, only to trip and fall upon a horde of what used to be its goblin subordinates. But it has no time to think, for its predator is right behind it. The predator walks slowly, writing in a small leather notebook.  "24 regular goblins, 10 goblin swordsmen, 3 goblin mages, 1 goblin commander…" It said in a small voice. It turns its head up towards the injured creature: "And 1 goblin chief." It said as it closed the notebook. The former goblin chief runs, just hoping it'll get away, but swish soon falls again, an arrow to its heel. Knowing it can't run, it turns towards its predator, and starts begging on its knees, hoping for any silver thread of mercy. "Please, you were coughs one of us! I know coughs you are!" It cried, trying to look as pitiful as possible. But that was of no use, as with one swing of the greatsword, the former goblin chief's body was cut like a hot knife through butter as its stomach tore open, revealing its damaged internal organs. "Gob…" it tried mumbling, but the adventurer was already shoving its guts aside, digging for its manastone. "Just how did it become a goblin chief, thinking it'll be granted mercy." With one hand carrying its greatsword, and another a bag containing all the monster's manastones, the adventurer starts walking out from within the rock tunnels of the goblin's cave. The night is so peaceful with its bright moon and starry sky, it can give anyone a good mental refreshment. With several heavy grunts the adventurer walks through the night to the Adventurer's Guild. "Welcome back sir diamond rank adventure." The two guards said in unionsion as they let him through the gate. To ensure the best service for adventurers, it's common for the Adventurer's Guild to remain open 24/7 at all times unless in cases of emergency such as monster raids. Chime As the bell rings: "Good evening adventurer 31,415,926." A male voice mumbled from behind the counter. "Another night of monster hunting huh? What kind this time?"

"Goblins'' I mumbled as I handed him the sack of the goblins manastones. "And the usual." I said in a deep voice, wanting this to already be over. The guy working at the counter is Mark, this building's main manastone appraiser, an easy job with a good salary. He has near perfect memory too, so it didn't take long for him to calculate it. "Total of 73 manastones… diamond rank so 10% tax… 65.7… along with the quest rewards… 95.7 manastones." Mark was never quiet with his calculations. "And your total will be 55.7 mana stones alongside your usual order of 2 low class health potions. Fill out this form and we'll get the Scavenger Group to grab the corpses, the deposit will be in 3 to 5 business days." Mark said with his always fixed smile. As I left out the door, Mark probably saw the blood leaking from within my armor. "You might wanna use one of those potions now." He says as I walk out the door. My name is Telonio, and this is my tale.

Adventurers are generally not the richest of people, as their career forces them to buy new items, medical supplies, weapons and armor repairs after every raid or quest, so Inns and Hotels make good amounts of money from them. "Room for one…" I mumbled to the female Innkeeper. "Room for one, door 37." The Innkeeper says. There are many regulars for the Inn every night, and I was one of them, heck, I practically live here at times. The wooden walls are all made sound proof to help "guests sleep" but it also helps with keeping secrets for meetings. "Fuck…" I grunted as I lifted most of my heavy mithril-infused armor off of me, its blood stains dirtying the previously clean blue carpet. I let my guard off too much during the raid… those damn goblins and their cowardly tricks… Making sure the door's locked, I applied some basic infection cleaning on my wounded body, enduring the pain from the herbs. An adventurer treasures money over their own lives, so whenever I have too much money on my person I  always wear my chestplate almost 24/7 with my manastones hidden within while I sleep. Trying to sleep through the pain, I can hear the laughter of other adventurers from outside, probably drinking about their failed or successful raids/quests. I tried sleeping through, but the question started popping up again, just like it does everynight. What makes an adventurer, an adventurer? The status of it, or maybe the shoulder badge? If dragonborns and elfs can be adventurers, what about orcs and trolls? I've seen animal humanoids be adventures, but do they qualify as monsters? Am I an adventurer, even if I'm a goblin?

Chirp Chirp Chirp! The birds went as they announced the morning. The night had passed and it was another day of quests to do. My wounds have mostly healed, and now it's time to go on another journey of quests. With a grunt I packed up my items, leaving a tip for the Innkeeper, since I don't remember paying the previous night. Sitting down at one of the wooden tables in the Inn, I waved my hand for one of the workers. "Orc meat with some bread" I said to the waiter. Adventurers are Inns' main source of income, so they tend to do the best of everything to ensure loyal customers. Soon on my table was a plate of fastly cooked orc meat and some bread loafs, alongside a big glass of water.  The meat was rather tasty, but definitely could have been cooked longer. After paying 3 manastones for the meal, I went to check out the quest board in the local Adventurer's Guild to see what my next quest to do.
