Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 – Feldmarschall

[Main POV]

As Artemis and I landed on the ground, no one noticed. We were currently in an area under heavy shelling from 34th Guards Artillery Division stationed in Potsdam, and everyone was taking cover indoors. It had been 10 hours and it was almost 7:00am. By now the adrenaline rush that the citizens of Berlin had experienced had calmed down, and most were scared. Only 20% of them had guns and the rest had to settle for long steel poles.

While most adults were still determined to fight (due to the lingering effects of my song), they were having doubts. Those with children especially.

"Do you have a plan?" I asked Artemis. She shook her head no.

"Good, cause I do." I quickly explained the plan.

"Isn't that basically the first plan?" she asked.

"Well, if it ain't broke…"

.

Walking into a large gymnasium, I made my way to the stage. Inside were around 20,000 men, with only 4,000 having a gun of some sort. I knew there were hundreds of thousands in similar states, huddled and hiding like rats in a sewer. Well, time to flush them out.

At the front, there was an East German General with the communist star ripped out of their uniform. He was explaining how they were the ones to give their lives up for a great cause and how history would remember them. While totally ineffective, I couldn't blame him. After all, I was going to say basically the same thing.

As I was nearing the stage, someone shouted, "It's him!" and I was flurried with questions.

"You started the revolution! What's the plan?"

"How're are we going to survive, I want to see my family again!"

"Are the Americans coming to save us?"

"What's the song called?"

Once on the stage, the general looked at me questionably, then gestured for me to take center stage.

The crowd was still restless, so I did something that I knew would get them to quite down. Investing my voice with divine energy, I shouted, "WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!"

Everyone stopped. Not a single soul in Berlin moved or spoke. Even the artillery fell silent. Taking this opportunity, I began to sing.

The 35th Guards Air Assault Brigade was stationed with the 34th Guards Artillery Division. Soon, they would be dropped into Berlin using the nearby airport in Potsdam. Most of the men were in a good mood, joking, smoking, and playing pranks. After all, they were professional soldiers going up against civilians.

But then, they soon heard singing.

A soldier with binoculars looked and saw a fleet of cars – Volkswagens, Mercedes, BMWs, and Audis, led by a white Porshe. Each car was packed to the brim with men, except for the Porshe. On top of it was a certain blonde-haired god leading the charge.

The alarm was rung and soldiers started getting ready, taking defensive positions and setting up antitank weaponry. But at that moment, the sun peaked its rays over the horizon, blinding them all.

As they regained their vision, most were immediately cut down by arrows of fire creating massive explosions and chaos all around them.

The cars drove right through most of the remaining soldiers before stopping and releasing the passengers of the vehicles upon any poor Soviet who remained standing.

All across the field, thousands of cars crashed into the Russian line destroying it completely. Any survivors would run into Potsdam and change their clothes to avoid being recognized.

The victorious German army dismantled or destroyed all the large artillery and planes in the airport before driving back to Berlin. Anything that could be carried or towed was taken. No casualties were reported. A total flawless victory.

[Main POV]

Arriving back in Berlin was fun. Apparently, someone had driven ahead to tell everyone the good news. So, we were greeted by cheering crowds everywhere as we drove to the Reichstag. Someone had prepared a podium that the leader (presumably me) would speak at.

As I approached the podium I was saluted, "Feldmarschall."

"Excuse me?" I questioned.

The man sheepishly looked away. "You lead us to victory."

"That doesn't exactly make me a field marshal."

"The generals all think so."

I turned to look at the generals behind me. They all saluted me.

"Feldmarschall."

"Feldmarschall."

"Feldmarschall."

Well, I wasn't exactly going to complain about the promotion. This had to be some sort of record. I saluted them back and went to the podium.

Standing up there, I noticed that there were cameras all lined up in a row. I recognized some of the logos. AP, CNN, Reuters, last I checked, those weren't German.

I smiled. Things were about to get good.
