"Hello my love, welcome to the world, Mazu."
Was the first words that Mazu ever heard from her mother. She still remembers the sweet bliss that was in her mother's voice. But she never heard that blissful voice again once her mother was brutally murdered by cultivators. Her dad had managed to hide both himself and young Mazu as they watched their precious Mother/wife get murdered in front of their eyes. Mazu was 7 at the time. She still remembers what those cultivators had said to her mother before they stabbed her. "You, Mazu yang of the emperor realm, are guilty for treason and betrayal. You not only betrayed us, but your family and friends, and for this..You will be charged with the death sentence."
Mazu yang didn't make any objections, and from what it looked like at the time, her mother looked proud of what she had done.
Her mother knew where young Mazu and husband were hiding, but if she looked their way the cultivators would surely kill them to.
So Mazu yang closed her eyes and spoke.
"I am prideful of my actions. For I did them for the right reasons. If I surely die today, then I beg of you not to harm my husband and daughter, they..didn't know." she lied.
The cultivators had a little humanity and couldn't blame the innocent, so that was the deal they made, they wouldn't harm her family.
"Mazu yang, you are prideful of your actions and have no remorse or sympathy for all people you have hurt. You engaged in secrecy and murder. You used your title as a warrior general to lie to others and kill innocents."
Mazu scoffed.
"Innocents? As the warrior general, the most trusted and reliable source, do you think I would harm the innocent" she glared. "They were not innocent." she said through seethed teeth.
One of the cultivators drew out there sword and pointed it at her chest.
"Yes they were. They worked as peasants trying to get somewhere in life, and you ruined their chance. You took them away from their families and friends! You call yourself trustful and reliable, but all you do is bring shame to those categories. And you bring shame to us!"
Mazu laughed which only fumed the cultivators even more. Then she took a deep breathe and said her very last words.
"If what I did can't be justified. Then can you really call yourselves cultivators? You live off of meditation and protecting others, and doing the right thing. But when it comes down to it you ignore all the facts and do what your told. If I did that, I wouldn't be the warrior general. I will never feel sorrowful or sympathetic for what I did. Instead I will be proud and worthy. Because what I did was the RIGHT thing, and if I die doing what is right , then I'm already better than you ever will be."
The cultivator had enough of her nonsense and drew the sword through her chest.
The husband covered the daughters mouth so they wouldn't hear her cry's.
Blood rushed out of Mazu yang's mouth and the cultivator pulled the sword out. And watched her body fall to the ground.
Young Mazu was crying in her father's hand, and her father's tears were silent and painful.
They had to get back to where they lived before the cultivators arrived at their house and saw they were missing.
