This was the very day that marked Lei's journey to the other world. A journey full of wonder and excitement that could fill everyone's void and imagination, one that would make you live your life to the fullest, however, that's what you think.
Lei, a 15-year-old high school student, came on a school trip to a museum.
A happy smile danced on his face as he rode the bus with excitement that he finally had the chance to ever ride one, as his life was boring, blunt, and poor.
His family was average, but today's improvements and technologies made him think that his family was poor and less fortunate.
He took a seat on the farthest side of the bus, where every main character would sit.
He sat and simply admired the surroundings when the bus had finally moved.
Well, if you ever thought that he had a friend and a seatmate, you'd be wrong.
He was friendless, though his behavior and attitude were the best, but he wasn't gifted with talent or charm.
The bus was filled with students, his classmates. They were noisy, annoying, and were making a lot of trouble inside the moving vehicle, though Lei didn't mind it since they weren't bothering him a bit.
But he couldn't help but notice that one girl, whom he had laid his pools of inky eyes upon. A smirk tugged on his lips, though it was just for a moment.
He knew he was beyond the girl's league to even date her or begin talking with her.
And that is when he finally stopped admiring that beautiful girl—that girl who had pristine, pure skin, and Lei would even call her "ethereal."
Finally, they have arrived at their destination, where everything will change.
He took his things and his bag with him.
He took a step forward, exiting the air-conditioned bus, as the warm breeze filled most of his lungs. He observed his surroundings once again and noticed the city museum was massive to look at. His excitement filled him to the brim.
Finally, he could study some artifacts that are old in this place since the city he lived in was pretty old, older than some states that his country had.
Well, on his way to finally admire the cool and breathtaking items that are in the museum, he spotted a couple that were holding hands and calling each other by pet names.
Of course, as someone like Lei who hasn't experienced love called them "cringe," well, of course they were uncomfortable to look at, but he should choose to ignore what's supposed to be ignored in the first place.
Chosen to ignore the cringey couples, he stepped into the museum. The cold air conditioning wrapped Lei's warm body; it at least made him shiver for a moment.
Lei griped about the building's extreme cold, saying,
"Ah, damn it. What a cold place have I stepped in... I should've brought my hoodie with me, but... Aurgh, forget it. It's not like it's going to magically appear in front of me if I complain about it."
He seemed to be within a refrigerator that had been left on for many years.
A cold sigh came out from his mouth as he crossed his arms and placing his hands on his underarms to keep them warm.
Distracted by the coldness of the building, his class left him at the entrance, shivering. He decided to find them in this massive building and walked aimlessly, without a sense of direction in his mind.
He walked and walked until he came in to a room that had no doors except a floating ball that's on a pedestal.
He saw what looked like a treasure and some sharp weapons that'd been used before guns were invented.
Those sharp weapons were displayed and hung on the wall, with the magic ball in the middle.
He could hear voices calling out to him to touch that magic ball.
An eerie yet cooing voice was heard as he approached that ball; it was enticingly eerie.
As the voice led him near, his hand would extend and reach out to touch and hold the magic ball that was floating in front of him.
An ominous aura would come out of that ball, dark but tempting.
But when his hands finally reached their destination, he could begin to feel his mind black out and feel numb.
His eyes were now colored white, as if becoming blind. His black hair was aggressively blown away by the wind-emitting ball that's feeling his touch.
His consciousness then disappeared from his body, leaving his original body hollow.
Before anyone would know it, his body went limp, falling hard to the ground and hitting his head on the floor.
It was an accidental event where he foolishly touched the ball due to his curiosity getting the better of him.
"You died"
Well, that was supposed to be there after getting killed by some floating magic ball that's very common in some video games, but... it wasn't.
He didn't encounter some typical Isekai plot that he always imagined if he actually did die in a bizarre and uncommon way. But instead, he saw nothing—the void.
He was floating in the middle somewhere in the void, where nobody is and nothing is.
