Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Heart of My Isekai Family

After my rather disappointing performance at the tournament, I returned to the home comforts of my family. My father, an imposing figure who always tried to represent our family in a dignified manner, was unusually reserved. My mother, on the other hand, immediately embraced me and read the disappointment from my face.

"My boy, you really should focus more intensely on sword fighting training," my father warned with a serious expression. "You represent the Himmelstein family, never forget that." With those words, he headed to the dining room.

Dinner was already served and the rest of my family was waiting for me. My younger sister jumped up joyfully and exclaimed, "Aldric, brother! How I have missed you! How did the tournament go?"

I smiled at her and took a seat at the family table. "Well, it didn't go quite as successfully as I had hoped," I confessed to her, feeling the support of my family give me renewed strength. "But you know what? No matter how many setbacks I face, I will never give up. I will train and improve my skills so that I can do better next time."

With those words, my disappointment turned into a firm determination. My family was there to encourage me and stand by my side. With a loving smile, I stroked my little sister's head. "And you, my dear sister, will support me in this, won't you?"

She nodded enthusiastically and beamed at me. "Yes, brother! I will always support you and believe in you. Together we can do anything!"

After the hearty meal, a delicious chicken and mashed potatoes, I turned to my older brother who was sitting next to me deep in thought.

"Can you actually do magic?" I asked him curiously, hoping to learn more about magic in this world.

"Aldric, you must understand that magic is rare in our world. Only our brother Alexander has such a talent. It would be very unlikely for anyone else in our family to have magical abilities. But if you want, we can do a test after dinner to find out if you are magically gifted."

After dinner, we were led into a room specially equipped for magical testing. In the center of the room was a large glass sphere filled with a shimmering elixir.

The sphere was divided into different sections, each representing different colors. Each color stood for a particular attribute of the magical talent. Blue symbolized the element of water and control over liquids. Green represented the connection to nature and the ability to influence plants. Red represented fire and the control of heat and flames. Yellow symbolized lightning and control over electrical energy. And finally, there was purple, which stood for mysticism and spiritual powers.

Despite my expectations and hopes, the sphere showed no reaction at my touch. None of the colors intensified, there was no sign of a magical gift.

I could not deny that I was disappointed. Did I have no magical talent at all? Was I a total failure in that regard?

But then I felt my father's reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Aldric, it's okay," he assured me. "Not everyone is blessed with magical abilities. That doesn't mean you're not talented in other areas."

Suddenly, my interface flashed again and a notification appeared, "Condition met. Backport unlocked."

At that moment, both relief and a certain sadness flooded through me. I looked at my family in this Isekai world, especially my little sister. Even though I had grown in this new world, I had to realize that without the help of Cheats, I did not have the strength to relive a teenage life.

I quietly muttered the word

["Backport"]

and felt my surroundings slowly change. The Isekai world began to fade and I eventually found myself back in my own world.
