Kier used Magic to gently lift the bodies of Irel's family and place them in the graves he'd made. With more Magic, the mounds of removed earth next to the pits shifted and shrank while the dirt under the bodies rose. Slowly, Irel's mother and sister disappeared in the ground as if they were sinking in it.
Irel had fought off crying until the faces of her family disappeared. She fell to her knees and wailed. Ina picked her up to hug her. No matter how tight the Druid held her, though, the girl's screams and cries persisted.
With the graves covered, Irel pried herself free of Ina's arms. She stumbled, fell, and crawled until she was between the two tombs to lie there. Her body twitched with gasps and sobs.
