Of course the girl wouldn't answer. Kier knew that. She sought company, but talking to other people as she was overwhelmed by her feelings was too much. She needed a distraction from the void she felt within her.

The owl neared Kier and the child, walking, looking as curious as he could. The girl's wails turned to sobs as she followed the bird until it stood right next to her.
