"What?" Kier's comment fatigued Ina. She sighed more than spoke her question.
"Or set yourself on fire. Drink a poisonous component from your potions. Go offer yourself to a hungry pack of wolves, or go insult the Shadow's mother. Put your life at risk and I'll save it."
Ina didn't know how to respond. Slapping Kier did go through her mind but it was a fleeting impulse. She knew he was being honest. She felt it. And it made her happy. She hadn't expected to feel that way, though. A strange thrill coursed through her whole body as she spoke.
"I'll just go with you, then. That should be dangerous enough." She didn't smile. She managed that much control. "And you do owe me your life for saving you from that venom. I'll enjoy that for as long as it lasts."
