"I was hoping you would not be around long enough for it to actually become a topic of conversation," said Ina simply as she put a plate on the table for Kier.
"Aw. You thought you could drive me out?" Kier's tone was obnoxious.
"Yes. I just wasn't counting on you being gone for most of the time we've known each other."
"Yeah. Me neither."
The realization in Kier's voice surprised Ina. She thought he'd confront her. Instead he just lay there, probably thinking about it.
"Your plate's ready," she said.
"I'm not that hungry. And I should probably get going. I'd meant to be gone again last night."
