"Be very careful, please," said Kier.
Mina nodded. "We will."
Satisfied, Kier snapped his fingers and Mina disappeared.
"Let's go Medes."
"Kier—"
The young Mage snapped his fingers and collapsed on the grass. Medes flapped his wings as Kier fell to the ground and descended slowly to stand next to the Mage's head.
Peppermint whimpered and bolted towards Kier.
"He's OK," said Medes. "He just needs to rest."
Ina looked at her Familiar bounding gracefully towards the unconscious Mage. Again, she wondered why Mint was now so concerned about Kier. And it was only then that she wondered what had actually happened while they were away.
