"I don't trust you," said Ina.
"Nor should you," replied Kier. "At least not now. But perhaps if I make concessions?"
"Like what?"
Kier stood but slouched a bit so his eyes would be leveled with Ina's. Then quickly, smiling, he passed his hand in front of his face and snapped his fingers. His eyes were covered by a milky screen instantly. He then spoke some words and a slip of paper appeared in his hand. The Mage pinched the air in front of his face, pressed his fingers to the paper and separated them with a flourish. Ancient letters, words, maybe, appeared on the slip.
"That's the spell to get my sight back, taken from my memory." Kier presented it to Ina. "Burn it if I don't bring Mint back safe and sound."
