Kier closed his eyes and took in a deliberately slow and deep breath to let it out just as slowly and deliberately. He turned to Ina then.
"Well, I'll leave you to deal with her. I have to go tend to something."
"What?" said Ina.
"I'm leaving. And I'm taking Medes and Mina with me."
"What?" said Athyn. "You can't do that."
Something, a powerful gust of wind or force, pushed Athyn back away from Ina. Before her back crashed against the wall, the force subsided, making her stumble before her back bumped against the wall. Kier appeared in front of her, out of nowhere, his face a finger's breadth apart from hers.
"I ran my own sister through with a sword, Athyn," Kier's whisper was hoarse, the stars in his eyes alight and green. "What do you think I cannot or will not do?"
