Since highschool I dreamt of being isekai-ed in another world and have a powerful ability to conquer the world...
But never in my life thought it would come true but why do I look like this?!..
A skinny teenager with a pale complexion looking at me through the mirror. Looking at my reflection, I think that I look similar to my old look but the only difference was I have more fine and delicate look.
I lift my shirt revealing a bony frame. "Before I have a nice figure and an aesthetic body now I've got to work on the start again *sigh*"
I washed my face in the sink and go back to the tattered bed where I first woke up. There, a messy sheet lay down and a bunch of pill covers scattered above. It could only mean one thing.
"I promise I would live happily and treat this body better, I wish you peace."
With a bow I lit a small candle that I found in one of the bed side table and blessed the previous owner of my body's soul.
"May you find peace in the other side.."
And with that I search for the documents around the shabby apartment and soon come up with a strange id, a book about hunters and a wallet with a beep card.
I first scanned the id and found out that we have the same name 'Reim' and he was a licensed hunter in this world.
The bronze card has the original owner's face and a big E on the upper corner indicating the rank. "I guess they've ranked hunters with letters having S the highest and F the lowest?"
There's also a date on which the original owner's have registered as a ranker and it says it was just 2 months ago based on the calendar hanging on the wall. Each number in the calendar have an x sign except on the number 29, so I guessed it was February 29 now.
I placed the hunter card inside of the shabby wallet I found, just beside the beep card which I know is some sort of card that stores money.
I then looked at the thin book with a big "Beginner's hunters guide" it only has 6 pages but when I have read it all my heart raced in anticipation..
The book have a description of the history of rankers and the big phenomenon that happens randomly anywhere on the earth that they called 'gates'.
In these gates lies a monsters that the hunters have to defeat to clear it, also for every 'gate' 1 boss monster was expected.. to close the gate, a crystal inside the boss body should be infuse with mana teleporting the hunters outside automatically and sealing the gate forever.
In the next page I saw an introduction on how to open up the status of a hunter to know what kind of profession or job they have and the skills they can perform.
I was excited and my heart beating faster after I have read that part.
"Shouldn't I have an OP skill to conquer the gates and be the top ranker? Muehehehe."
A smile creep on my face as I fantasize more on my greatness..
I flip the page and read the instructions on how to open my status. "First empty your mind.."
I sit on the stiff bed and relax myself. "..then focus the energy on your temples all the way to the eye.."
I did what the instructions says and felt a warm current flows into my abdomen up to my temples and then finally in my eyes.
"..Then finally say 'open status' and a clear panel should appear Infront of you" is what the instructions said.
I say 'open status' clearly and soon a clear hollogram like window appeared before me with text of my information.

Instantly my hopes we're shattered and almost vomit blood upon looking at my pitiful skills.
"What do you mean attention seeker?!" I feel like my skills were mocking me.
I refuse to think that I will have trash skills so I read the instructions on hunters guide again and saw that I can view the skill and job description by simply tapping it.
I did what the instructions says and tap the holographic window and though it looked like transparent and holographic I can feel that the window was solid and a little cold.
Soon a 'ding' sound was heard and a text pop up in the job I clicked.

There's a big difference in the details description with the two jobs. It was also physically different just by looking at the golden intricate design in the before and the simple gray and plain design of the latter.
"Guess this would do and who decide the names of these? It's so tacky it would be better if it named 'Attention harvester' or 'Attention harbinger' to make it look cool at least no?" I suggest in the 'system'.
As I was going to explore more on my abilities a rather loud knock sounded on the door.
*Bang* *bang* *bang*
"Reim I know you're in there open the door!" Someone shouted.
I closed my status window and opened the door and soon saw a thug- no, a tall man in 20's with a messy orange hair and lip piercing. He's looking at me like I kill his ancestors and was holding a bat in his left arm and a jacket on the right side that he puts over his shoulder I might say it's kinda cool..
"What's the matter sir?" I asked.
He was perplexed at first and then looked at me from up to down. He cough and looked away. "Ehem, Reim you know it's your rent's due right?!" He said in rather unnatural voice.
I was confused at his behavior but ignored it and open my wallet bringing him the beep card.
"The old man maybe intimidated by you but you cannot- wait what?" He was then again surprised on how fast I gave my card.
'did the previous owner was a thug before I take over? Or he was a freeloader in his entire life? Why does this man thinks I would rather not pay the rent.' thoughts surfaced in my mind as I think that the man's attitude was interesting.
"Can you check if the card has enough balance?" I probe the man.
Of course I didn't know how should I pay up because clearly this is a different world than the earth and I don't even know if they use coins, credits, cash or gold as a currency but I thought since the card was in the wallet they should use this as a payment.
The man take the card with a little force and get a PIN machine and scanned the card. Soon a series of numbers showed and I saw a 16,890 in the machine and suddenly it turned into a 4,340 in an instant..
"Done, next time don't be late on your payment you even make me go into this place just to get your payment!" He snort, and hand the card back to me.
"Oh.. okay" I bowed and get the card.
"Am I penny less now?? How should I earn more numbers in the card?" Thoughts scramble again in my mind never realizing that the man is still standing outside.
After a moment I then realized that the man is still outside and when I looked up on him I saw him looking behind me, specifically in the bed where I lay down the book but the used medicine box, bottles of water and some body liquids were still scattered in the bed and the floor beside it and I saw the man change faces.
I can feel a shock, sympathy and confusion in the man's face as he turns his face into me. "You.."
Before he speak I say my goodbyes and slam the door in his face and locked it. I was not ashamed that I did that because he was rude in the beginning I know he won't be offended by that and also I would not rather hear any emotional advice from someone I don't even know.
I quickly scramble myself and fix the bed and also cleaned up the puke that's on the floor maybe came from the previous owner of this body after ending himself. It took me approximately 4 hours cleaning the house and having a bath after I've done all of that the outside was already dark, luckily the house was small and there's nothing much stored inside so I quickly cleaned it.
I looked at the shabby bed, a bedside table, worn out closet and a little table in the middle of the room it's pitiful compared to my previous condo but I'm used to this kind of setup since I am from a orphanage and lived in apartments like these when I graduated from highschool.
Though it was quite sad that all that I have build in my life including my house, my fame and most importantly my aesthetic body was gone just because I tripped on a wet tiles comedically and hit the back of my head..
Well not that I'm complaining but I think I can build myself again since I have fulfilled my most awaited wish: to be isekai-ed and have powers.
"I should explore more of my powers and these world but *yawn* I'll do it tomorrow." I throw myself in the bed and covered myself with the thin quilt letting my fatigue eat my consciousness..
