Chapter 6 - [6] Introduction

"I suppose that's only fair," she muttered, her gaze dropping to her hands before she looked back up at me. Her lips tightened into a thin line before parting to speak. "My name is Seraphina. Seraphina Velaryon."

"Seraphina Velaryon," I echoed, a slow smile forming on my lips as I committed her name to memory. "Nice to meet you, Seraphina."

Her violet eyes flicked towards me, an unasked question lingering in them. She was curious, I could tell. About my true identity, about my real power level. Well, I figured it was only fair I give her something. After all, we were going to be companions for a while.

"I am Chang," I began, meeting her curious gaze with a steady one of my own. "As you probably know, I am disguised as a noob adventurer." I paused, my smile broadening as I saw her eyes widen slightly. "My displayed tier is F. But my real power... Well, you'll have to find that out for yourself."

"But..." I continued, holding up a hand to forestall any questions. "I can assure you, it's more than enough to train you to face Maroth."

The silence in the room was palpable as she absorbed my words, her eyes searching mine for any hint of deception. I gave none away, my gaze steady and sincere.

"I am a human," I added, just in case it wasn't already clear. "And my class... I am a swordsman. As for my age..." I chuckled lightly, running a hand through my short black hair. "Let's just say I've been around."

There was a brief pause before I asked, "What about you, Seraphina? Care to share a bit about yourself?"

She seemed to ponder for a moment before answering, "I'm an Elf. My class is a blood mage and my overall power tier is C."

I tilted my head, looking at Seraphina thoughtfully. "Your name is kind of long," I commented, my lips quirking into a smirk. "Mind if I call you Sera?"

Her violet eyes widened momentarily at my audacious request before narrowing again, her lips pursing in clear annoyance. A soft blush crept up her cheeks, whether from embarrassment or anger, I couldn't quite tell. "Fine!" she huffed, crossing her arms over her chest and turning her head to the side, her silver hair swaying with the motion. "But only because it would be troublesome to correct you every time you say it wrong!"

I chuckled at her response, the sound echoing through the small room. "Oh? You've got a temper on you. I like that," I said, grinning at her flustered expression. "Makes things more interesting."

Q: Do you have a shortened name?
