Romances in books are cliché and stupid, is what she thinks. Then there came a time when this book came along entitled "To Be Ruled Upon" at first, reading the title she thought that this book sounds cheesy and boring enough to be read. But she was wrong.
She believed that only in books they portrayed love to be as perfect as it can be, to the point where people began to expect what love can be in real life, but jokes on them. Stories from books are nothing but a phony life that people dream to have.
The book, "To Be Ruled Upon" was said to be entirely a romance story, about a prince who never knew what love was until he found—
"The book's about to say "her", I was right this book is cheesy..." She utters in a mocking manner, as the woman holding the book decided to close the book she was holding at an instant, she saw what was written on the next pages.
(The prince killed his lover, over and over again...)
"They said to me that this was a romance genre, they must've given me a murder case from the Medieval period?" She said in a skeptical way, as she flips the pages from one page to the other, her curiosity flickered and decided to read the book from the beginning.
Hazel Morao, who is currently in her freshmen year in College. A scholar by her aunt who is the principal of the school, Mrs. Sidney Barron. Her aunt saw how talented Hazel is by sculpting with any materials given to her, and that is why her aunt saw an opportunity for her niece. Hazel, currently has a part time job in a bookstore which was close to her apartment, apparently she saw a job offer as she was walking down the streets the other day and decided to take it.
Now, going back to Hazel who is currently reading the book.
As time goes by, page by page the romantic feel of this story slowly fades into dust as Hazel realizes that it was all...
Nothing but an illusion.
(What a bunch of idiots.) Closing the book and placing it on top of the counter, she then continues to greet and attend to the customers who were entering the shop.
(If I were in that situation, I'll let that person find someone else. Watching them from afar might be the best choice than seeing them hurt with me.) Hazel sighs in frustration as she rubs the back of her neck.
The shop became packed because of the book Hazel was reading but because it has been released today in their shop.
(What's to be excited about. This book is crap anyway, dumb ass princess fell in love with the wrong guy and the princess died because of her previous lover. And the lover prince died. End of story.)
"This story is so good!" Said the customer across the room, as she holds the book up then hugs it to her arms tightly.
"He deserved to die he was quite obsessive." Said the girl next to her.
(Deserved? I wouldn't say that.)
In the book, the prince Roy Van Hughes Estrad. Killed his previous lover not because she fell in love with someone else but because she became the curse to be a host and needed to be executed. And the prince only did his job, and that is to protect his kingdom. But people around him blamed him for the death of the innocent princess, they despised him. Prince Roy Van Hughes Estrad, took his life because of guilt and longing for his fiancee.
(They should read it again, maybe they're just blind that they didn't read the part where—)
A shadow was cast towards Hazel, enough for her to notice. She looks up to see who it was, the light blinded her vision for a while but slowly adjusted and so a man with jet black hair color with clear grey orbs for eyes. Hazel was mezmiresed for a moment until she began to notice the clothes the man was wearing.
"Are you the mage?" He utters in a low deep voice, and places both of his hands on the counter.
(Mage?) Scrunching her brows together, tilting her head to the side. Hazel was skeptical at what the man uttered and even started to question what the man was wearing.
Jet black hair with two grey pairs of orbs for eyes and a komodo dragon insignia broche on his right chest. And a prince like attire and to complete it a sword hanging from his waist was visible too.
(Uwah, cosplaying as Roy Van Hughes Estrad in here. The nerve of this guy...wait, he said "mage" didn't he?)
"Book, I want that book. Now." With his right hand, he then places his hand over the book on the counter, the very same book that she read a while ago. With a cold stare and menacing presence Hazel felt like a prey in front of a predator. But this didn't stop her from clapping back at the man.
"Buy it in that corner." Pointing her index finger to the corner of the room where all the people are buying the book copies, the man looked over there and looked back at the woman in front of him with a much bigger presence.
"Buy? Did you think I asked you to give that book?. I gave a command. I want that book. Now, Mage." Placing his hand over his sword, he then wields it and immediately places it an inch away from Hazel's neck. She felt the cold blade touch her skin and shivers directly went down to her spine.
Hazel now finds herself in a pinch situation, she never knew that this day would come to her life, threatened by a cold blade ready to chop her head off. She couldn't feel her legs anymore, and just by standing and breathing the same air as this man was enough for Hazel to pray for her life at a flash.
(AH. his sword feels extremely cold near my neck. Crazy cosplayer man!!! You're as crazy as the character you are cosplaying!!?)
