The seer watched her contemplatively, then handed her the jar, "Open it."
Mya obediently did so, sneezing as bits of the gold-toned soil flew into her face. For a while everything was normal until it became blurry, she couldn't hear clearly, as though she was underwater.
She closed her eyes as she felt something tug at her, soon she was sucked out of her body.
When she opened her eyes, her jaw fell open in amazement. There were swirls of reddish-gold dust like multiple black holes, looking around, she could tell she was in some sort of desert. Looking up, she could see golden clouds gathered and lightning flashing within them.
She had seen many things in her mind, been pulled into many strange realms but she had never seen anything so beautiful yet terrifying. The swirls of dust seemed to cut through space, there were multiple of them surrounding her, she could sense the terrifying pressure rolling off them like waves, keeping her locked in place.
"This is the valley of time, in simple terms. It holds the pathways to the past present and future of anyone directly related to the gods."

Mya turned around, seeing a beautiful young woman standing on a hill of sand, she was dressed in a white tunic. She was blind, her eyes nothing but white orbs. "Who are you?"
She smiled at Maaike, "The same person who brought you here, in these types of realms, I appear at my most perfect state."
She lifted her hand and pointed at a very small looking portal, "That one first…I can only help you get there, it's up to you what happens there. Just be careful, many creatures have the ability to see through time, or you will end up changing the present."
Maaike looked at her a moment longer before stepping slowly through the strengthening wind, then she was sucked into the portal suddenly.
The seer smiled, "I'm not sure if this was the best choice…She could get in a lot of trouble." She shook her head, chuckling lightly before turning her attention to the now wild portals, she stretched out her hands toward them, her palms let out rays of golden light, slowing down their reactions.
-------
It appeared like a dream, Maaike opened her eyes to find the edges of her sight blurred as though she was looking through water. She tried to close her eyes, but they did not respond.
Mentally slapping her forehead, she realized that she was watching through someone else's eyes. Her vision soon moved as the person's head turned toward the left, giving her a blurry view of the stone walls of the room, it was obviously a cave.
Mya was confused, she wondered if she had been sent back to the stone age, when the part of the wall she was looking at shifted, letting in a burst of bright sunlight.
A hand stretched forward, into her vision, it was an exotic looking hand. It had bronze coloured skin and a large golden bracelet on the wrist. It came in contact with a ray of sunlight, trembling at the contact.
The body began to move following the hand as it moved around, to feel the path. Mya was astonished, her current host seemed to be blind. She wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing, but she couldn't help the rush of excitement in her at the experience of seeing through someone's eyes.
Ignoring the niggling guilt at the invasion of privacy, she took in the beautiful view, even blurred it looked magnificent. It was a golden temple, at least it appeared golden in the sunlight, there were tall pillars with markings on them.
It was as detailed as the temples in Egypt, she couldn't help but question how they were built. As the body moved, it soon arrived at the temple entrance. Taking in the view, she realized that she was probably in ancient Egypt.
It wasn't that surprising, she had an Egyptian name after all, but she did realize that Isis did indeed have some prior relation to her family. The temple was built for the goddess Isis, her depiction was carved into the walls.

The body she was in knelt before the image of Isis, muttering words in the Coptic language¹, it all sounded incoherent to Maaike's ears.
She realized that going back in time didn't necessarily mean she could understand the language, she couldn't help but feel unsettled.
'Had the seer known about this?'
She kept her attention on the world outside, hoping to get some clue on how to understand the language. She mentally called out to the old lady but got no response, the body she was in soon moved again, closer to the wall and her hand touched upon the moon above Isis image, releasing a golden glow.
The wall trembled as it slid open, opening up to a thin sheet of gold, where Maaike could see the reflection of the woman she was in. Her mind was racing at the sight it the mirror, it was extremely alike to that of her mother.
If not for the small frail looking frame and the nearly fully shaved white hair on the woman's head, she would've thought she was her mother. She watched as the woman walked through the gold sheet appearing in a dark cove only lit up by the light of the moon.
The woman lowered her head, giving Maaike a view of the floor which was actually clear still waters, reflecting the light of the moon and the silver eyes she was looking through.
The woman moved forward and stopped in front of an ornately carved stand holding a bowl of clear liquid. A voice echoed through the cove as soon as she touched the bowl, "Tayet!"
Maaike was confused as the woman let out a sound in response to the name, from what she had heard, Tayet was also a goddess, so why was she here as a servant of Isis.
