"Miraculous Resurrection!"
Padre's voice suddenly rang out, and in the next moment, his figure stepped out again from the radiance. However, his calm face indicated that his mood wasn't great.
Deep down, he felt fortunate that he had cleverly embedded the 'Miraculous Resurrection' card in his body in advance. Otherwise, he would have returned to the narrow gap between nothingness and reality by now.
But on the other hand, this preparation also represented that he had already acknowledged he was not a match for Laxus. That's why he made preparations to die once.
For Padre, this wasn't being cautious but rather being cowardly.
Even though his body didn't belong to him at the moment, and his power wasn't his own, Padre still represented the sin of pride.
This meant that Padre himself was a manifestation of pride.
The original demons were born from negative emotions and the sinful thoughts of humans. The first one among them was the owner of the Seven Sins, the self-proclaimed Demon Ancestor, who now only existed as a mass of black mist.
The Seven Sins, in turn, were demons born from seven representative emotions, reflecting extreme personalities corresponding to those emotions.
For example, in the case of their subordinates, not all of the Seven Sins had subordinates serving them. Those representing anger and jealousy, Varev and Anvon, didn't have their own subordinates.
The reason? Varev often killed his subordinates in fits of rage, while Anvon never found a subordinate she liked, so after changing a few, she stopped assigning any.
Such revealed personalities significantly influenced their actions. Even though they were borrowing power, the fact that they were completely suppressed by Laxus made Padre extremely angry and unwilling.
The way Laxus looked at him, according to Padre, was no different from looking at a mad dog.
So, he extended his index finger and beckoned.
It was an extremely disdainful gesture, coupled with the expression of being the number one in the world. It could really drive someone crazy.
However, at this point, Padre's state was not much different from madness.
"Ah, ahhhh!!!"
Whether it was a roar or a wail, Padre was indeed loudly expressing his emotions. Perhaps this was his way of distracting Laxus, as he took out other cards sneakily while screaming.
Laxus was startled by his sudden loud scream. By the time he realized something was wrong, Padre had already completed his summon.
A magic circle appeared in the light, and from it jumped out a lively and cute blonde girl, dressed similarly to Padre but with brighter colors.
The 'Dark Witch' made her entrance.
Seeing this, Laxus couldn't help but mock, "Summoning a character like this at this time, did it break your brain?"
If Jellal were here at the moment, he would definitely warn Laxus not to be careless. He was once defeated by these two summoned beings.
And it seemed that Padre was thinking along the same lines.
He planned to join forces with the Dark Witch to unleash a lethal blow.
'Dark·Explosion·Rending·Magic·Guide.'
After the Dark Witch was summoned, her two wands immediately joined together, emitting a dangerous light. With a sinister grin from Padre, this move, possessing unimaginable power, was about to be launched at Laxus.
A golden light flashed, and Padre, intoxicated in his triumph, only felt a lightning bolt passing by his ear. Then, there was only himself left.
The Dark Witch, who was by his side, had disappeared.
In a hurry, Padre turned his head, only to see Laxus's sturdy back and the Dark Witch, whose face he was pressing down with his palm, struggling and trembling.
Laxus was surrounded by lightning, transmitting through his palm to the Dark Witch. There was no pity for her beautiful face; she soon stopped struggling, and black scorches appeared on her fair skin.
Then, she turned into foam and disappeared.
The Dark Witch exited the stage.
Padre stared at everything in disbelief, allowing the Dark Witch to be extinguished by Laxus.
When Laxus finished dealing with the Dark Witch and looked towards Padre, he finally reacted.
His face turned extremely pale, but also with a hint of confusion.
Because he really didn't know how to proceed. He hadn't even used his strongest move, and he felt defeated already.
But he couldn't give up at this point. After all, Padre didn't want to go back to his previous life even in death.
"Knight's Crest!"
After a brilliant flash, the Dark Magician transformed into the Dark Knight, no longer holding a wand but a sword. With a fierce charge, he attacked Laxus.
Seeing this, Laxus just sighed. At this point, he had no desire to fight, as it was getting extremely boring.
With a casual wave of his arm, lightning flashed, and the transformed Padre as the Dark Knight was tossed around. Once again, he gained more scars, looking utterly miserable.
The only thing that remained unchanged was his gaze, which finally shifted from arrogant disdain to fear and panic.
Laxus's gaze, however, remained unchanged—always filled with mild contempt.
This was something Padre couldn't endure any longer. Completely losing his composure, he shouted, "Don't look at me with that kind of gaze! I am the pride of the Seven Sins, Padre!"
He continuously pulled out cards, disregarding their effects, and unleashed them all at Laxus.
'Thousand Blades.'
'Black Spear.'
'The Dark Magician's Curtain.'
Laxus's expression was vividly fascinating, not because these attacks against him were too powerful, but because he admired Calvin's unpredictable cards.
He asked himself, some of the cards were indeed not that powerful, but there were also some that were extremely unexpected. If they were used when he was off guard, he really had no confidence in resisting them.
"What a pity, the current user is not Calvin." Laxus sighed silently, effortlessly avoiding all the attacks.
Padre's madness seemed to come to an end, as he could only use one card left.
But this one card seemed to restore a bit of his confidence.
Looking at the card in his hand, Padre couldn't help but smile softly.
"Hehehehe... I've been neglecting it all this time. It seems my fate is not meant to end yet."
"Is this your last words? In that case, let me send you to hell." Laxus didn't want to be delayed any longer by Padre, speaking expressionlessly, intending to deliver the final blow.
"Send me to hell? I originally came from hell." Suddenly, Padre raised his head, revealing an exaggerated curve at the corner of his mouth, smiling brightly.
