Chapter 199 - Attack of the Giant Makarov

The summoned beasts, occupied by the Seven Deadly Sins, can continuously manifest in this world for two main reasons.

The first is magical power, and the second is the completeness of their composition.

Magical power needs no elaboration; without it, any magic is just a theoretical concept. As for the 'completeness of composition,' it is a significant factor limiting the strength of summoned beasts.

The principle of summoning cards is simple: through the magic circle depicted on the card, magical power is gathered in a peculiar and orderly way, forming vivid summoning beasts.

If magical power is compared to paint, the card is the canvas, and the summoning beast is the complete painting.

This completed painting is both stable and fragile. Thus, if the injury is too severe or the composition is not complete enough, the summoned beast will revert to magical power, dispersing into the void and once again becoming part of the world.

For this reason, the Seven Deadly Sins generally do not force themselves into bodies that are not easily obtained. If the body is accidentally destroyed, regaining it is not as easy as summoning beasts, as done by Calvin.

However, today, all members of the Seven Deadly Sins have no choice but to force themselves, exerting all their power to face the enemy because one careless mistake could lead to their demise.

Not to mention that three members, Lust, Envy, and Sloth, were almost annihilated without distinction, leaving behind Calvin's cards, with magical power once again blending into the world.

At the same time, without the extraction of three magical powers, Calvin's recovering magical power unknowingly increased significantly.

Still in that endless darkness, Calvin continued to confront the black mist.

Just as Calvin said the other party couldn't be arrogant for long, he immediately sensed something unusual about his body.

That heavy feeling diminished once again.

Calvin couldn't help but smile, self-assuredly muttering to himself, "Two more of the Seven Deadly Sins have been defeated. The speed of magical power recovery must be getting faster..."

"Don't daydream. The Seven Deadly Sins will not fail!" The black mist in front spoke in a low, calm voice, as if describing a fact.

Calvin, hearing this, sneered, mocking, "You are too confident in them, and you are too confident in me. Your Seven Deadly Sins rely on my summoning cards, but do you really think summoning cards are invincible magic?"

Facing Calvin's words, the black mist could only remain silent.

He knew it well. Although Calvin's summoned beasts were powerful, the real magic prowess came when Calvin personally controlled them.

Coordinated summoning beasts, constantly evolving moves, and continuous attacks, like surging waves, were unstoppable.

This level was the true essence of summoning cards.

However, apart from relying on summoning cards, he had no other way.

Or rather, just being able to use Calvin had already cost them a great deal of effort.

Calvin continued, "Each summoned beast has its own limit. The magical power they can possess is limited. Even if the summoned beast extracting magical power is fewer, the other Seven Deadly Sins will not become stronger because of it."

"Their collective failure is only a matter of time."

After saying that, Calvin suddenly extended his index and middle fingers, yelling loudly.

Instantly, countless blue and white columns of light appeared abruptly from behind him, like shells, all rushing towards the black mist.

After the blue and white columns hit the black mist, it was like mud entering the sea, causing no ripples.

"It's useless. Even if you develop more powerful magic, you cannot cause any harm to me. I thought you should have understood this clearly in the past seven years."

"Unfortunately, I am not flexible enough and often run into the south wall. I will continue to break through it!"

...

Inside the castle of the Seven Deadly Sins, battles were still raging everywhere.

In the hall, the Dominator of Dragons seemed to be able to summon endless dragons, making it seem impossible to kill them all.

Marcus raised both hands, and two desert tornadoes appeared out of thin air, sweeping away the nearby dragons.

"Damn Calvin, how can he create so many dragons so casually!" However, this did not make him feel happy; instead, he grumbled and complained.

It's not surprising since the enemy's means of attack were provided by their own people. Although it was unintentional, it was indeed annoying.

"Don't complain! Hurry up and exert more effort. Calvin's summoning cards can't be endless. I think they are almost used up!" Makarov shouted loudly while his hands kept moving, and a continuous burst of purple flames surged out. Whenever a dragon touched it, there would be a tragic howl until it dissipated.

At this moment, the Dominator of Dragons had long lost its previous calmness and instead appeared somewhat panicked.

Makarov guessed right. Even if Calvin were free, the number of dragon cards he could produce would not be exaggerated. At this moment, the Dominator of Dragons had basically used up everything it could rely on.

"Damn it! Why are these guys so tough!"

...

In a huge room, two massive beings were fiercely fighting.

One of them was entirely black, with blood-red eyes glaring. He was obviously the once strongest summoned beast of Calvin, the Red-Eyed Black Dragon.

However, now he should be called Varef, the representative of anger among the Seven Deadly Sins, occupying the body of the Red-Eyed Black Dragon. At the same time, he was currently the strongest existence among the Seven Deadly Sins.

However, at the moment, his condition did not look too good. Blood kept flowing, and his scales were tattered, with traces of fractures everywhere.

All of this made him roar loudly, venting his anger.

"Roar!"

'Black Flame Bullet!'

A huge black spherical ball spewed out from his mouth, containing a destructive aura that was not obvious. The dark red flames inside were slowly burning.

However, the other massive figure was not afraid at all. With a sudden grab of both hands, he stopped the Black Flame Bullet's movement.

Magic spread over his palms and skin, protecting him from being burned. Then, he forcefully pushed back the Black Flame Bullet, causing Varef to be startled. He vigorously flapped his wings, intending to dodge.

But at this moment, a hand grabbed his tail, preventing him from leaving.

Helpless, Varef could only watch as the Black Flame Bullet exploded on his body. However, he did not react without response. At the last moment, he used the battle armor specially prepared by Calvin for the Red-Eyed Black Dragon.

The metallic sheen of the armor appeared instantly on him. Before the Black Flame Bullet hit him, it narrowly added an extraordinary layer of defense to Varef.

And the enemy who could make Varef so embarrassed and was also a giant figure was none other than Makarov.

As the president of Fairy Tail, he personally took action this time, directly pushing Varef back.

He stared, blowing his beard in anger, and roared angrily, making the tone incomprehensible.

However, Varef understood Makarov's emotions without hindrance.

Apart from anger, there was nothing else.

Makarov showed him that when humans are truly angry, they will reveal extraordinary strength.

At least, Varef felt that the man in front of him was more suitable for the word 'angry' than himself."
