Chapter 158 - The Smoke of the Counterattack

The torrential rain continued unabated, intermittent thunder echoing through. Every time the thunder roared, Panthaleon would display a different side, trembling with fear, seeming exceptionally afraid.

Due to this state, Panthaleon had to seek shelter in a concealed cave.

"I can't believe it; you're actually afraid of thunder." Shalulu couldn't help but express surprise, a hint of teasing at the corner of her mouth.

Panthaleon immediately pretended to be indifferent, calmly stating, "Who's afraid? It's just that flying in the rain makes it easy to get struck by lightning."

This statement sparked another round of stifled laughter from Shalulu, but it only lasted a moment, quickly subsiding.

This wasn't the time for jokes; the two of them had a crucial task.

They needed to find Elleska and bring her to support Calvin. Especially now, with that spreading aura of fear, the two cats felt even more anxious.

"Here's the plan: I'll go find Elleska, and you rest here for a while, Licorice." After pondering for a moment, Shalulu proposed.

"No, it's too risky for you alone. Besides, we've been flying for quite some time; your magical power must be running low." Panthaleon shook his head, rejecting the idea, then continued, "Rest here for a bit. I believe Calvin won't lose easily. The fact that the enemy used such terrifying magic is evidence enough."

"It's precisely because the enemy used that kind of magic that I'm worried! Darn it, it would have been better if the Male Cat were here at a time like this!" Shalulu exclaimed in frustration, the image of the blue figure that was sometimes cute and sometimes extremely reliable involuntarily appearing in her mind.

Shalulu held some expectations for Happy for a reason, but while they fretted, a blue shadow swiftly passed through the rain.

Along with the thunder, Happy's call echoed across the sky.

"Elleska!!!"

Abruptly, Happy's rapid figure came to a halt. His eyes scanned the surroundings intently, then perked up, listening carefully. Unfortunately, apart from the rain and thunder, he could barely hear any other sound.

He had tried this method many times before, but each time was in vain. Just as he was disappointed and considering moving elsewhere to continue calling Elleska's name, faint noises came from below.

"Happy! I'm here!"

Hearing that familiar voice, Happy immediately jumped and darted downward.

There, stood a woman in armor with bright red hair.

It was Elleska.

With her hands on both sides of her mouth, she shouted loudly toward Happy.

"Elleska!!!" Happy exclaimed enthusiastically, rushing into Elleska's embrace. Even though he could only feel the hardness of the armor, Happy was unwilling to leave.

God knows how much courage he gathered to shout so loudly on this enemy-infested island, but fortunately, he finally found Elleska.

"Happy, is something wrong? Why are you in such a rush?" Elleska asked in surprise.

"Elle! I received an order from the guild master to bring you to support Calvin! The guild master said very seriously, don't confront the enemy forcibly. If you have the chance, escape with Calvin!" Happy answered hastily, not daring to delay.

Hearing Happy's words, Elleska's expression slightly changed. If even Makarov had said such things, the terrifying nature of the enemy was beyond doubt.

Especially since she had already strongly sensed that aura of fear and despair.

"I understand. Let's depart immediately."

However, that wouldn't be an excuse for Elleska to retreat. Without a second thought, she immediately requested to depart.

Happy didn't dare to delay either, swiftly carrying Elleska towards Calvin's battleground.

Meanwhile, Mira's battle had reached a stalemate.

Although Mira had the upper hand, she couldn't finish off the enemy for a long time, for two reasons.

Firstly, Mira didn't dare to expend too much magical power. She still wanted to rush to support her companions after defeating the opponent. Before the spreading aura of fear and despair, she had sensed another powerful and frightening individual arriving on the island.

Secondly, as soon as Lasitoros realized he wasn't Mira's match, he immediately shifted his target. His magic kept bombarding the injured, diverting her attention.

Despite this, Mira managed to suppress Lasitoros and didn't let him succeed in his aims.

Lasitoros was a Mage who used Concrete Arc, able to conjure formidable beasts out of thin air. His hands could transform into peculiar claws and a golden shield, and his feet held the wings of a Pegasus, making him formidable.

Once again, seizing an opportunity, he released a colossal beast toward Makarov. Just as Mira was about to rush over to block it, the beast suddenly froze in its movements.

The next moment, an angry voice resounded.

"Puppet Magic! Human Form - Break!"

Accompanying the word 'Break,' the colossal beast abruptly shattered. Before Lasitoros could be surprised, another voice, filled with anger and coldness, echoed.

"Dark Scripture, Shadowless!"

A figure clad in pitch-black armor, with long emerald hair, descended from the sky and sent Lasitoros flying with a single strike.

The newcomers were evidently Bogros and Felide from the Thunder God group.

Although they had just arrived on the island, both of them were highly mobile mages and quickly sensed the encampment.

After knocking Lasitoros away, Felide dispelled the wings behind him, and Bogros descended from the puppet he controlled. Standing side by side, they were like an impenetrable fortress wall.

"Mira, leave this guy to us. There's an ominous aura in the south of the island. Can you check that area?" Felide focused on Lasitoros and calmly said to Mira.

"That's probably where Calvin is fighting, but there's another unusual magical presence elsewhere. I plan to go there." Seeing the newcomers, Mira relaxed a bit and released Satan's Soul.

"Don't worry. Along with us, Kildas is also coming back. He's already headed to the place you mentioned."

Upon hearing this, Mira no longer hesitated and quickly said, "Felide, give me a pair of wings. I want to conserve my magical power as much as possible because Calvin's opponent is really unusual!"

Felide nodded without speaking but immediately wrote some words with his Western sword at his waist. The words transformed into wings, adhering closely to Mira's back.

After trying to control them, Mira nodded to Felide and Bogros, turning into a bewitching shadow and flew off.

Lasitoros observed coldly and didn't stop Mira because he knew very well that Mira alone was already formidable, and if the three of them joined forces, he wouldn't stand a chance.

It was better to let Mira leave.

Watching Mira's figure disappear into the sky, Lasitoros once again revealed a confident smile and laughed wildly.

"Another person coming? But even if a few more scraps show up, it's still useless."

"Can you overcome imagination? Imagination is limitless. Can you surpass infinite power?"

Suddenly, Bogros's puppet fired several beams of light, incredibly swift. Lasitoros barely managed to dodge.

"With the likes of you, the two of us are more than enough to annihilate!" Bogros, having completed the sneak attack, said indifferently.

Following up, Felide added, "Despair, Fairy Tail, it's time for us to strike back!"
