Chapter 3: Born Anew

In a small, humble cottage nestled on the outskirts of the tranquil village of Elmsworth, a child was brought into the world. Liam Hawthorne, now reincarnated, entered the realm with a new body and a fresh start. His arrival marked the union of two worlds, for his parents, Elysia, a gentle elven woman, and Thomas, a kind-hearted human man, had defied societal norms to be together.

As the midday sun cast its golden rays through the window, bathing the room in a warm glow, Liam's features began to take shape. He possessed an ethereal allure, his skin fair with a subtle luminescence, reminiscent of his elven heritage. His eyes, the color of emerald, twinkled with a touch of mystique, radiating an intelligence beyond his years. His raven-black hair cascaded in gentle waves, framing his youthful face.

"Welcome to the world, Liam," Elysia whispered, her voice filled with tenderness, as she cradled her newborn son in her arms. "May you find strength and happiness amidst the challenges that lie ahead."

Thomas, his father, beamed with pride. "He has your eyes, Elysia, so full of beauty, I'm sure our son is destined for greatness."

Years passed by, and even though he had a happy family, Liam's childhood was marked by both happiness and trials. He attended the local village school, where he found out that he was different and as other kids said,"Not meant to be". The scars of discrimination remained as a constant presence in his life. The children of Elmsworth, fueled by ignorance and fear, would often taunt and belittle him due to his mixed heritage.

On a crisp autumn day, Liam walked through the village square, his heart heavy with the weight of unkind words. A group of children, led by Cedric, a boy known for his cruelty, surrounded him. Their laughter echoed in the air, cutting deep into Liam's soul.

Cedric sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "Look at you, Liam Hawthorne, the half-breed. You think you can fit in? You're nothing but a mistake."

Liam stood tall, his eyes filled with determination. "I may be different, Cedric, but that doesn't diminish my worth. We are all capable of greatness, regardless of our lineage."

The other children laughed, fueling Cedric's arrogance. "Greatness? You? Don't make me laugh, Hawthorne. You'll always be an freak and an outcast".

Undeterred, Liam's voice replied with tears tricking, "You shall see, Cedric, you shall all see. The mark of one's character lies not in their bloodline, but in their actions. One day, I will prove my worth to all of you and this world.", he said this and the response he got was just more laughter and jeering, unable to withstand the urge to burst into tears anymore, he ran away with the children still laughing at him.

As Liam grew older, the prejudice against him persisted, not just from children, but from the adults too, he could see them all look at he and his parents like they were trash and would try to avoid them as much as possible, he found out that the only place was within the loving confines of his family, each day marked by laughter and heartfelt conversations he would have with his parents.

One evening, Liam couldn't resist the urge to ask, "Father, why do they treat me this way?" Liam once asked, his voice tinged with sadness.

Thomas embraced him, his eyes filled with empathy. "It is their ignorance, my son. Fear often drives people to shun what they do not understand. But remember, you possess a strength and potential that far surpasses their narrow judgments."

Elysia added with a smile, "Your kind heart and indomitable spirit will guide you, Liam. Stay true to yourself, and I'm sure one day, the whole world will come to see your worth."
