Chapter 163 - Just blew it and it was exposed

Nick Fury looked at Wang Yang, who remained calm.

The reason he chose to establish this base was his understanding that powerful entities might continue to emerge in the future. Whether it was the Battle of New York or the arrival of Thor, the universe held formidable forces that compelled him to prepare early.

Even though he had paid a significant price to build this base in space, Nick Fury believed it was essential to monitor potential threats from outer space. However, the base was still in the early stages and couldn't effectively defend against powerful beings. Long-term construction was needed.

All of this was something only Nick Fury understood, and he wouldn't reveal it to others. Especially not to this terrifying being in front of him.

"We established this base to defend against extraterrestrial threats, just in case," Nick Fury explained. "And since we set up the base, no one has been able to enter it as easily as you did. You are dangerous."

"At least I won't pose a threat to Earth. As for other extraterrestrial life, it's a different story," Wang Yang replied noncommittally.

"You can rest assured. Since we established the base, there have been no instances of extraterrestrial civilizations approaching Earth," Nick Fury asserted confidently, seemingly confirming everything he said.

This, of course, was until Hela left Earth not long ago, bringing the Undead Legion back. Wang Yang had found Nick Fury reliable. If not for his suspicion that Hela broke free because of Thanos, he might have believed Nick Fury completely.

"Really? Why have I seen extraterrestrial civilizations entering Earth?" Wang Yang looked at Nick Fury strangely.

"It's impossible. Those must be beings living on Earth. If they were extraterrestrials, they wouldn't be able to breach Earth's defense perimeter," Nick Fury said with unwavering confidence.

Wang Yang observed Nick Fury, unsure whether Nick Fury had become accustomed to deception or if both of them were being deceived. Clearly, there were extraterrestrial beings approaching, yet Nick Fury remained so confident; Wang Yang couldn't fathom how Nick Fury managed it.

"Director, we have a problem!" At that moment, a man walked in, looking anxious. "Unidentified flying objects have appeared over New York!"

This man held a high position in the base, and Nick Fury had requested that he be immediately informed of any events. Usually, it helped him stay informed and respond promptly. However, at this moment, just after Nick Fury finished boasting about the base's ability to resist extraterrestrial invasions, the truth was exposed.

Without time for Nick Fury to feel embarrassed, the man hurriedly continued, "Director, a circular aircraft has breached our core blockade and is now over New York!"

New York was their protected core area, not to mention other locations. Now, Nick Fury's tall tale had been thoroughly exposed.

"What do we do, Director?" The man asked anxiously, and Nick Fury's face showed a mix of anger and embarrassment. One part of him was furious at the frequent invasions by terrifying extraterrestrials, essentially treating Earth as if it were abandoned. The other part was the realization that his bragging had just been shattered, which left him helpless.

"Nick Fury, consider my words carefully. Just leave this ship to us!" Wang Yang stood up, drew a circle in the air, and then walked straight into it, disappearing in front of them.

Nick Fury's expression was extremely complicated at this moment, with glints of light flickering in his eyes, indicating deep contemplation.

In the high skies of New York, the colossal spaceship descended, creating a terrifying gust of wind that made countless civilians scream and flee.

The size of the spaceship was immense, and if it landed, it would likely destroy several blocks. Moreover, a spaceship designed for interstellar travel could endure the harsh conditions of space, indicating its incredible toughness.

Just as the spaceship was about to land, shards of broken glass spread out. Suddenly, the formidable spacecraft disappeared.

Just like a giant abyss in the sky.

Many civilians couldn't help but rub their eyes, their faces filled with expressions of disbelief, wondering if they were seeing things.

After all, how could such a large spacecraft disappear just like that?

Some New York citizens even started to doubt their own eyes, thinking that maybe there was no spacecraft at all.

However, when they discussed it with others, they realized that it wasn't an illusion. Still, they couldn't explain why the enormous spaceship vanished.

Amidst the bewildered and incredulous expressions of the New York crowd, Doctor Strange and Wang, who were overseeing the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York, directly opened a mirror dimension and pulled the spaceship into it.

However, with their combined power, it was initially impossible. Just when they were about to fail, an even more terrifying force extended the range of the mirror dimension, swallowing the massive spacecraft whole.

The surrounding environment was also shaped by this force.

Boom!

The spaceship descended, causing countless buildings to collapse and be destroyed. However, there wasn't a single person in the vicinity.

Strange and Wang stood at a distance, watching the scene unfold.

"Wang, who intervened just now?" Strange asked, still somewhat puzzled. He had no idea who had just assisted them.

"It should be the Supreme Mage. Only she has such immense power!" Wang also found it perplexing but believed only the Supreme Mage could achieve this.

"The Supreme Mage?" Strange concurred, thinking that it made sense. Only someone of her caliber could possess such power.

At that moment, a voice echoed.

"I'm not the Supreme Mage!"

"Wang Yang Mage!"

"Wang Yang!"

Hearing this voice, Strange was delighted, while Wang looked surprised. Clearly, he hadn't expected this.

Strange already thought highly of Wang Yang. While others saw Strange as formidable, even impressive, Wang Yang's brilliance overshadowed him. So, Strange didn't consider himself exceptionally talented and often looked up to by ordinary mages.

However, Wang Yang was different. He witnessed Wang Yang's rise to power and acknowledged his formidable strength. Now, seeing Wang Yang's current capabilities, he was impressed.

"I guess Wang Yang's strength is now on par with the Supreme Mage!" Wang couldn't help but marvel.

"Wang Mage, what are you saying?" Strange looked at Wang, somewhat surprised. Wang shook his head.

"Let's deal with the people inside the ship first!" Wang frowned and spoke, and Strange nodded in agreement.

Wang Yang walked over to the two of them.

"Come out, do you really expect us to invite you out?" Wang Yang said coldly.

Wang and Strange, along with their magical abilities at the ready, were prepared for any confrontation.

"Whoever interfered, you're so impolite to our guests from Earth!"

As Wang Yang was about to reply, a voice came from within the ship.

"Earthlings, truly ignorant of hospitality!"

Speaking as the voice continued, a skinny figure, followed by a giant wielding a massive axe, emerged from the ship.

Wang Yang immediately recognized them—Ebony Maw and Black Dwarf, two minions of Thanos.

In movies, these characters might seem weak and insignificant, but in reality, they were quite formidable. Ebony Maw, in particular, was powerful enough to easily defeat Doctor Strange, a fact somewhat downplayed in the movies.

"Now Earthlings, we've come in, and you should be grateful. You'll die at the hands of the esteemed children of Thanos!"

Ebony Maw spoke slowly.

"Grateful? Is slaughter of civilizations what you call gratitude?" Wang Yang sneered. "They need your 'salvation'?"

These individuals were brainwashed by Thanos, and reasoning with them was impossible.

"Since that's the case, kill them!" Ebony Maw said with a sneer, and Black Dwarf charged at Wang Yang, Strange, and Wang with his axe...
