Chapter 49 - Murano Through My Eyes: Short Story

Ego's big plan was still unfolding. The Neo-Egoist League that took the world by storm. The most engaging place for football. He called Kurona for an interview. One of the few people he thought would lead Blue Lock forward if it started being broadcast worldwide.

The lights dimmed and the cameras started rolling...

Kurona nodded politely. He knew that this interview was not just about him but also about showcasing what Blue Lock stood for – a new era in football.

Part of Kurona's Interview:

Kurona's Point of view of Murano

"Murano, huh? Best highlight? bagging a hat trick against the World Five. Yeah, he's come a long way. And I was there, front row to witness the whole show."

Ego leaned forward in his chair, his eyes fixed on Kurona. He had chosen the right man for this interview, someone who was with Murano during the Second Selection. The world needed to know what Blue Lock was capable of.

He continued "First time I ever saw him? Second selection. Fresh face, a strong aura like he owned the entire damn stratum. He walked up to me like we'd been buddies since elementary and asked me to join his team. Now, I hadn't heard of him before, All I knew was that he was the top scorer of all five strata in the first selection. Couldn't say no, not with that aura surrounding him and the stats backing him.

Playing alongside him was sort of easy. We clicked instantly, my playing style complimenting his style perfectly. It was like butter and bread. The way he'd dissect defenses, and predict plays before they even unfolded, dude was a predator in the making.

But then came Rin's team. That match was the turning point. Murano, was on fire. Unstoppable. We scored two goals in the first half, his eyes flashing. Rin's team was tough, no doubt, but Murano… was something else.

Then two goals for Rin, boom, boom. Momentum shifted, they won against us, and for the first time, I saw Murano despairing right in front of me. It clung to him like a veil.

I remember that look in his eyes after the final whistle. Crushed, sure, but there was something else too. Awakening, maybe? a spark, a fire re-awaken. That loss, it destroyed him, but it also made him.

He wouldn't be the same after that. The training was next level. Obsessive, relentless. I saw him pushing his limits, day after day until he was satisfied with his progress. He even collapsed once in the bathtub. And me? I was there, witness to his growth, his transformation.

Maybe if Rin hadn't knocked him down that day, this new Murano, the one who just walked through the World Five, wouldn't exist. But that's the thing about him, isn't it? He takes hits, rises, and comes back even fiercer.

Recently he faced Rin again and won 5-1. I wasn't in the match but I watched the tapes.

Yeah, Murano's come a long way. Further than I ever imagined. He's not just a talented striker anymore, he's a complete monster. Shooting? Ronaldo. Dribbling? Lionel Messi. Passing? Luka Modric. Speed? Thierry Henry. And his mind? Xavi and Andres Iniesta combined. Weak Foot? Noel Noa.

But the most dangerous thing about him? He never stops evolving. Every match, every opponent, another piece of the puzzle. He's hungry, evolving, becoming something new, something terrifying.

Murano, huh? Yeah, he's pretty damn amazing. And I was there, front and center, watching the king rise."
