Chapter 4 - Possessiveness

"Let someone else touch you and he is going to have the nastiest death, my love. You don't want to try me," Andrew said with a smirk.

That big smirk on his face wasn't setting well with her. She glanced at Perri.

"What happened to the last guy I slept with?" She asked, knowing perfectly well that his warning wasn't blank.

"He was not found after that night," Perri said, looking down.

Veronica was seething, not because she cared about that guy. It was because she knew that he was the one behind all of these.

"Why wasn't I informed about it?" She asked.

"You didn't want to see him again after that. I thought that it wasn't important for you," Perri was shaking.

She didn't become Veronica's right hand just because she is a girl. She had to go through numerous tortures to finally get where she is today.

And these tortures weren't easy. She had to suffer from being thrown into a river full of the snake to being thrown in front of a lion.

She was as good as a robot at this point yet Veronica scared her.

She knew that Veronica doesn't take mistakes lightly and she could always find new ways to torture her victims.

She was scared of Veronica yet her loyalty lies with her.

"What matters to me and what doesn't, isn't for you to guess. You made this mistake once, don't repeat this again," Veronica said and Perri nodded her head.

She knew that Veronica was saying this because they have other gang members among them. She doesn't want them to find out that her right hand was getting punished and take advantage of it.

As soon as they are gone, Perri knew that Veronica would start torturing her.

That's how she was, forgiving wasn't in her dictionary.

"You are the one who made him disappear, right?" She asked, moving back to his personal space.

They were giving everyone a good show for free yet others couldn't gather the courage to enjoy it.

"What if I was behind this? Do you have any proof and even if you have proof, could you prove that I made him disappear because he touched you? He was a normal pro*titude. I might have some personal problem with him," that small smirk that was covering his lips was getting under her skin.

Despite both of them knowing that it was the main reason, none of them could say anything.

"You should leave. You have been here for a long time and I need to change now. It's getting cold," Veronica said, moving away from him.

Andrew cleared his throat.

"You are right," he said moving towards his car, indicating the others to join him as well.

All of them got into the cars and left, leaving Veronica where she was standing.

Her eyes were following the car he was in. It was really frustrating how he always manages to get under her skin and make her frustrated.

"Perri, get into the dungeon. No one is going to give her any food for the next week, only water to keep her alive. Am I clear?" Veronica shouted and everyone nodded their heads.

Perri felt like kissing Veronica's hands for going so easy on her. She was expecting a hard punishment but it was like child's play.

She could easily survive this. Her eyes filled up with gratitude.

Veronica was going towards her room when her path crosses Perri's.

"Thank you so much, boss," she said and Veronica nodded her head.

Perri was extremely loyal to her and she has proven it more than once. There have been times when she took bullets for Veronica and almost died trying to save her.

She was tortured till nothing was left within her yet she kept her mouth shut, not letting a single piece of information about her gang slide.

Veronica doesn't like hurting her, she was like a sister.

But then again, it was her way of protecting her. Her strategies were different than the others.

She can be killed by the enemies anytime. As a part of the underworld, her life was always in danger.

She knew that softhearted people don't have any place here. Being kindhearted gets you killed and she wanted her made men to survive.

In this case, made women.

This world was more dangerous for women and she wanted to make sure that they are strong enough to survive every torture that is thrown their way and still shine like a fu*king queen.

Her approach might be wrong but her intentions weren't.

She moved to her room and closed the door before standing before the large mirror that was as big as the room.

She could easily see her full body.

She threw away her robe, making her naked body come to display. A few small roses were covering her entire body. And a black snake seems to pass through them.

To outsiders, it was no less than a beautiful masterpiece. It was so beautiful that whoever sees this was bound to fall in love with it.

She started caressing the flowers. They weren't just tattoos to her, each of them came with a memory.

They were the symbols left behind by each twilight of torment.

They demonstrated her vulnerable side, and each one of them held her screams of pain, wrath, and helplessness.

They were the scars of her past, the past that made her want to destroy everything whenever she recalls it.

She so wanted to go back and change everything but she knew that it wasn't achievable.

The person behind her cries was killed by her but his touch was still imprinted on her body.

Our body produces new cells every seven years which means, after every 7 years, we get a new body.

This year was going to be the 7th year. Finally, she was going to have a body that doesn't have the touch of that monster, of her ex-husband.
