Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Desicisons

Mora and Tsukiyomi sat on the floor cross legged whilst facing each other, in between them was a long silver box. They were in a small empty room near the throne room of the palace, the room had no windows, the only light source came from the glowing silver box.

"I am officially giving you the Regetsu," said Tsukiyomi. He opened the silver box and inside it was the long silver katana, it's glow brightened the room more.

"But mother already gave it to me plus," said Mora, he held out his hand and the blade disappeared from the box and reappeared in his hand. "Its already somehow formed a connection with me."

"Yes," Tsukiyomi said with as he looked at the sword sadly. "However, that sword is a sacred treasure of my empire that I gifted to your mother. It contains some of my essence so without my approval the sword would not fully accept you as it's master."

"I still can't use it properly though, it takes a large amount of Arch."

Tsukiyomi waved his hand and the box disappeared, he stood up and sighed deeply. "That can easily be fixed with training but for now I must depart. Chaos is arriving and I must greet him."

Mora made to stand up as well but Tsukiyomi Put his hands together and Mora suddenly could not move.

"I wouldn't feel safe if I didn't know you were in one place. Given the way you are you'd probably do something insane so I'll unfortunately have to keep you here."

Mora was stunned at first but began to smile, "You know me well." Tsukiyomi gave Mora a warm smile and began to slowly disappear.

"Its a given that a parent should know how their child operates."

Mora remained smiling in the dimly lit room, he clenched his fists hard and gritted his teeth. 'Its better this way,' thought Mora.

'I wouldn't even be able to do anything even if I did leave. Even so, it's so damn frustrating, is sitting still all I'm good for, Master Longwang sacrificed himself to save us and now we can't even repay him for what he did. I've never felt so weak before, so-."

The memory of a warm smile flashed through Mora's mind. He released his hands and looked down at the sword with a sad expression.

"So useless," whispered Mora.

"What's useless?" Asked a voice.

Mora's body glowed and brightened the room and there, in the corner, was Kioku. He had changed out of his training robes and was wearing a simple black shirt and trousers with sandals.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Mora. Kioku moved forward and tapped Mora on the shoulder and Mora could move again. Kioku then pulled out a glowing blue crystal from his pocket that and held up in the air where it remained floating and turned to Mora.

"You can stop using yourself as a torch," said Kioku as he sat down. "To answer your question, I came here because I have a proposition."

"Which is?"

"You and I are going to leave this place and go fight Order's forces," responded Kioku in a serious tone.

Mora was momentarily stunned, he knew Kioku was serious from his expression but the situation seemed unbelievable to him.

"I normally would've already done that but with how weak I am it's stupid to do so, you saw how weak we were against that Seraph and you suggest something like that," said Mora with a note of disbelief.

"Sorry I find this hard to believe, this idea is too illogical for you to think of Kioku."

"Every illogical idea has a hint of logic to it," said Kioku with a shrug. "We lost miserably because we were weak so the only solution is to become stronger."

"You make it sound easy."

Kioku face palmed himself and groaned, Mora was about to ask why when Kioku held up a finger to silence him. "We are weak in a mental sense not a physical one."

"I'm not following," said Mora with a confused expression. Kioku sighed then stood and walked to the end of the room, he threw a punch at the wall and the entire section of the room was blasted apart revealing the view of the capital far below them.

"Think, Master Longwang said that his job was to prepare us physically for the war but mentally we aren't," Kioku turned and faced Mora, the moon bathing him in it's blue light. "What I mean is we lack proper knowledge about Arch."

Mora closed his eyes as he was in deep thought. 'We barely trained with Arch so we don't know much about it.'

"So physically we are strong but mentally we're no different from a new born," said Mora thoughtfully. "Now that I think about it, that apprentice said that our Arch was weak because we didn't form some sort of contract."

"The only way to grow stronger is to expand our knowledge and I already know someone who can help, so-," said Kioku whilst he walked towards Mora and held out his hand . "Are you in or are you out?"

Mora looked Kioku in the eye and could tell that he had already decided to go even if he refused to accompany him.

"The chances we could die are at least at ninety percent."

"Afraid?" Asked Kioku mockingly with grin.

"I was on board the moment you suggested it emo prince," Mora said, he shook Kioku's hand and grinned. "Let's see what waits beyond this realm."

The Land Of Fong had been devastated. There were longer fields of green only barren land with large craters. The mountains had been reduced to rubble and standing before the ruins of the formerly grand Dragon Palace was Henry Lerophil.

Henry's lower body had his armour but his abdomen was covered only in bandages. He stared at the palace with a faraway look, as though his mind had left his body.

"Lord Henry?" Came a voice.

Henry turned and saw his personal servant approaching him. His servant was a short bald middle aged man with dead eyes, he wore white priest's robes and sandals.

"What is it Feril?" Asked Henry.

"Her majesty Order has decreed that all forces of the Heavenly Society must return to Takahagamara," said Feril with a bow. Henry closed his eyes and sighed heavily, he had hoped for better news."

"Is something troubling you Feril?" Asked Henry. "You have not looked at me directly at all."

Feril rose from his bow and looked at Henry with a worried expression, sweat dripped from his face. "My lord, I wonder why you spared the two Godslayers."

Henry gave Feril a brief cold look that sent a chill down his spine and froze him in place. "There are two ways of becoming a Heavenly General, by the previous General stepping down and appointing his apprentice the role and by an apprentice having a significant accomplishment in battle."

"Master Geron is too fond of his power so in order to become a General I must gain an accomplishment," said Henry as he began to walk away from the ruined palace, Feril trailed quickly behind him.

"I let those Godslayers escape so that they could become significant threats for me to dispatch of in the future and gain the right to become a general."

"How sure are you that they can be become significant threats in the future?" Asked Feril, he was confused by his Master's way of thinking.

Henry stopped walking and traced a finger down the scar on his face. Feril knew Henry only did so when he remembered a previous battle he had with a Godslayer.

"All Godslayers are the same, their loss will drive them to become stronger. In order to do that they must complete the one task engraved deeply into their bloodlines," Henry spoke with such certainty that Feril believed him easily.

"Why are you doing all this just to become a General my lord?" Asked Feril, he thought that the plan was mad and dangerous. "The amount of lives that will be sacrificed by those Godslayer's rampage is high."

"I'm doing all of this because becoming a General brings me closer to the person I wish to kill," said Henry in a murderous tone, the clouds above rumbled violently. Feril swallowed hard and plucked up the courage to ask a question.

"Who?"

"Order."

A large arc of white hot lightning struck Feril and reduced him to ashes. Henry walked away from the scene with a look cold enough to freeze ones soul.
