After what had happened yesterday, I still felt guilty about it. I was sure that with the Oldark company behind my back, the police were never going to suspect me of any murders in town.
I looked down at Sarah who was sound asleep on the couch, her face cute as a kitty's. She made me regret, I wished I was never her cousin and that this pregnancy had not gotten in between us.
As I walked past, to prepare something for her, I saw my phone brighten with a new text. It was Jessie.
'Oh god.' Jessie was ten minutes away. from the text, I knew Jessie felt sorry for me, and was just coming along to check on Sarah now that she was her in-law.
"Sarah! Wake up." I rushed over to wake my sleepy cousin who tightened her eyelids with a haughty look.
"What now?"
"Jessie is coming," I informed her. I saw the expression of hatred flash across her face as she looked me in the eye.
"Did you call her over? Tell her to stay away from us." Sarah was angry. I still couldn't understand why she was so jealous of Jessie while she had handed me over to Lisa with no doubt of trust.
Now a bull pointed at me, ordering me to turn Jessie back and away from this street. "If you won't tell her to stay away...I will."
"Don't think I fear her so-called family and what oldark you say...!"
She didn't give me a chance to cool her down as a knock resonated after her strides towards the door.
"What do you want?"
I could hear Sarah at the door.
"August already left,"
Damnit! Jessie was forcing her way in. I had to reveal myself, Sarah was way too strong, a knockout from Sarah would leave Jessie in bed for a month.
"Hey... " I walked up the front door determined to ease the tension.
"Hi hubby," Jessie shouted from outside as Sarah gave me an amused look
"Who is your husband here!" Sarah flared up in rage blind to the Maybach parked outside. Jessie had come along with her father this time. The door to the Maybach opened and the recognizable figure stepped out. Sarah lowered her voice as the huge figure walked in.
"Do you have to make a scene here? We just came to see you. August said you were sick." Boar held himself upright giving me the usual cold eyes that send shivers down my spine.
"Who is sick?" Sarah asked.
"Weren't you sick?"
"Me? no." Sarah concluded as Boar smirked indicating for Jessie to just leave us alone. I knew I was in trouble as Sarah gave a last warning to Jessie. "Don't ever come back here. I don't fear you guys, not even that monster company you run."
"Sarah!"
It was too late, Boar immediately knew I had exposed the secret, and I had to flee together with Sarah. The look on his face confirmed my suspicion, I was nothing to the Mayers but a tool. Wiping me out was as easy as stepping on an ant, "Sarah, please calm down. You don't know who they are."
"I don't care! I just want that girl away from you!"
Everything after that turned into a nightmare as Hugh who had been the driver aimed his gun at Sarah, I was far behind, I couldn't protect Sarah as the bullet came buzzing for her stomach.
"Sarah!" My scream was loud as I saw my cousin falling to the dead. Jessie began to laugh, mocking my cousin before anger rose in her. "So you had sex with your cousin! You cheated on me!" She screamed her hatred out, snatching the gun in Hugh's hand.
This was going to be the end of me.
The Mayers were the underworld lord, there was nothing to stop them from harming me.
"Please don't kill me. Please."
I begged but it was too late. The bullet was shot, and I saw my blood thick as lava erupting from my belly as I fell next to Sarah.
Is this the end of us?
I was not ready to die. I prayed for my God to give me another chance but everything continued growing bark before a familiar voice rang through my ears.
"Will you take a sip... It's Krome look I will mix it up for u."
My eyes slowly opened again, the images of Boar, Jessie, and Hugh fading off like dust as Sarah stood in front of me elegantly with a bottle of Krome.
"Don't act like a virgin, drink some Krome and experience a new world." Sarah offered.
"I'm dead?" I asked first as Sarah laughed her heart out.
"Of course not! You drank too much yesterday."
"When is today?"
"Today is Sunday, why?" Sarah grew confused as I bolted up awkwardly, hugging her as I felt her life fresh.
"I'm going to church today," I said as I realized I had had a vivid dream. I knew from the bottle Sarah held, that that was the downfall for both of us. "Is Aunt back?" I asked, I still felt deja vu from the dream, everything had been real.
"She's not back. Are you ok?"
"I guess I'm ok," I replied going for a drink of skrite. I had to relax, How long have I been asleep?
With a look at my cousin, flashbacks from my dream made me think of how erotic she had been. At a point, I thought of daring my luck but a knock from the door broke through.
It was Max.
