Chapter 1 - CH 01: The Demonic Emperor's Last Stand"

The Demonic Emperor's Last Stand

These were to be my final moments, the demise of Wang Yuan, the infamous 'Demonic Emperor,' who had lived for millennia in this forsaken world of peace and harmony. I couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of it all.

"You son of a bitch!" the red-haired boy before me exclaimed. "You have slaughtered innocent parents, stolen their children, and left behind grieving widows. I still see the anguish in the eyes of the White Lotus Sect leader when you mercilessly slaughtered his disciples and members, all because he refused to reveal his family's secret, the Summer Winter Pagoda."

I scoffed at his words. "So what if I eliminated his family and sect members? I am the demonic emperor, and mercy is a luxury I do not extend to weaklings like him. His wealth, his secrets, and his wife were all mine for the taking. She was like a plump flower who initially resisted me when I forced her to sleep with me however as I ravaged her every day she desired me more and more until I didn't feel any joy from doing her. So, I decided to end her misery by killing her with my own two hands. In this world where the strong dominate the weak, how dare you question my actions?"

The red-haired man's fury boiled as he listened to my words. "You may have taken everything from him, but you overlooked me—the son who was conveniently on a hunting trip that day. I have waited a century for this moment, forging alliances with King Chen and Zhang Wei, and delving into the realm of concoctions, all for the sole purpose of seeking revenge."

As he spoke, two more individuals entered the throne room, accompanied by their loyal sect members. "Surrender the Summer Winter Pagoda, Wang Yuan. You were never worthy of it," they declared. "Alone, I may not have been able to defeat you, but with the assistance of the continent's greatest powers, you are nothing more than a solitary cultivator. Your reign was destined to crumble sooner or later, Wang Yuan. Your last breath is upon you."

Unable to contain my laughter any longer, I erupted into hysterics. The audacity of their attempts to erase the memory of Wang Yuan's reign of terror was truly amusing. Witnessing my amusement, my adversaries charged at me. How foolish they were to think that the world could forget the terror I had unleashed. Perhaps age had caught up with me, making them believe I had weakened.

The first disciple lunged at me with his shadow fist technique. Observing his amateurish attempt, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself. With precision, I hurled a poison dart that pierced his throat, causing blood to gush forth. Wasting no time, I launched multiple poison darts at my adversaries as they attempted to attack me.

Moments passed, and my enemies fell like mosquitoes before me. Unfortunately, King Chen, Zhang Wei, and the red-haired boy remained unharmed. It was time to unleash my ultimate weapon. I unsheathed my great sword, Diablo, and they responded by bringing forth their own weapons—a water spear and a fire spear, wielded by King Chen and Zhang Wei respectively. With unparalleled speed, I deflected their strikes with my great sword, moving too swiftly for untrained eyes to follow. King Chen attempted to pierce me with his spear, while Wei aimed to trip me with an oblique kick. I managed to dodge his kick, but the spear found its mark, piercing my abdomen. Rolling away, I quickly assessed the wound. It seemed he had coated his weapon with a corrosive substance, slowly eating away at my flesh.

"Give up, Wang Yuan," Zhang Wei taunted, a smile creeping across his face. "Your days of tyranny are over. See this boy? He is an alchemist who has mastered the art of a lethal, corrosive body."

However, the expression he expected to see on my face never materialized. Instead, a deep grin spread across my lips. "You always coveted the Summer Winter Pagoda, didn't you? But do you truly know its purpose?" I taunted. "Let me enlighten you. It is a vessel to protect my soul from the perils of death. I know not where it will take me, but I shall survive. As for you, my friends, your lives shall end here today."

Reaching into my pouch, I retrieved a stone—an apocalypse stone. It was forged from the blood of countless demonic beasts, imbued with their cultivation. I had spent my life hunting and absorbing the cores of these creatures to create this stone. "Behold the destruction of your loved ones and your world," I declared, infusing the stone with my chi.

A blinding light enveloped the room as the bodies of the red-haired boy, King Chen, and Zhang Wei disintegrated into dust. The earth cracked and split, as if the planet itself was crumbling to dust.

Everything descended into darkness, and the realm of cultivation ceased to exist. However, amidst the void, a faint, flickering blue orb floated with incredible speed until it found a new destination.

It hovered over a planet larger than the previous one, adorned with majestic mountains, beautiful oceans, and serene blue skies. It was nighttime, and Baron Marcus's family slumbered peacefully. Unnoticed by all, the blue orb entered their room, seeking its next victim—a newborn child, merely a month old, resting in a specially crafted rocking cart.

The orb consumed the child's soul, leaving no trace behind. Little did the poor infant know that his life would be cut short soon after being born, forever altered by the malevolent power of Wang Yuan.
