“So, is this my fault?” he questioned flatly.
“It’s not your fault at all,” Avita growled as she glanced at the man, shaking her head. “How is this possible? After all, you’ve never met her.”
Miguel looked at Avita, who he couldn’t read at the moment, and wondered what was wrong with her.
“Take the mask off!” he said, ignoring her harsh remarks.
Avita decided to take a breather; after all, if she kept pushing the buttons as she was, she would wind up hurting herself.
Fortunately for her, Avita was wearing a mask when Naomi came, so the others couldn’t see that her face was beautiful and that there were no visible symptoms of bruising or swelling.
And given that Miguel was certainly aware of the confrontation that occurred the day before, she realized that if she went to him with a story like that, he would get suspicious, which was something she didn’t want to have on her hands now before collecting the information that she wanted.
